I know Breakpoint is supposed to be "Near Future", but there's a reason why the 50 Cal has been in service for almost 100 years. I hope they add them to some vehicles or make an appearance in the next game.

Can we rework the injury system so it can be your arm instead of the leg ever time and if your arm gets injured your accuracy goes down and so on so so...

    AI teammates: an observation

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 02:03 AM PDT

After playing with ai teammates for a while and with the lack of detailed description regarding the behaviours of teammates other than from ubi themselves, i decided to tinker with them myself and here are some of my observations:

    1. Regarding effectiveness:

When i did base raids i always come to the conclusion that Vasily is the most effective of the lot, why? It came down to the weapon that I assigned to him. The AI teammates behaves similar to enemy ai, but somewhat a lil bit better, they endured more shots, move faster, and depends on what weapon you choose for them, kills faster. Vasily kills the most because he uses the SNR which naturally is very accurate and had high damage but the most important factor is that the snr is single fire.

The teammates had trouble with accuracy because they behave similar to the enemy AI, most enemy uses AR or other full auto weapons with high rate of fire and they don't always hit you (i play on regular for this test) if you equip AR's with high ROF then you eliminate what advantage your AI teammate has against the enemy.

I tested this with fury and fixit as the dependent variable and Vasily as the control, i equip fury with m4a1 one of the highest rof ar in the game and fixit with sc40k. The result is a very high time to kill for fixit and fury (like a whole magazine per enemy) and very low for Vasily (2 shots or sometimes one shot per enemy). Then I switched the weapons on fury with the silver stake (lowest rof ar) and fixit with the arx (lower rof than the previous weapon) and the result is a much lower ttk for both (around ten shots per enemy for the silver stake) and a lil bit more for the arx.

I observed this using the drone while i ordered them to open fire, and I just follow them around while they doing their job. While they're equipped wih m4a1 and sc20k they fire like a mad rookie and most of the shots hit the floor and around their targets, when i changed it to the lower rof weapons they're more accurate. Vasily is pinpoint with his sniper always.

Conclusion: lower rof weapons means more effective teammates. If you equip them all with snipers they become crackshots. But it's no fun for me this way.

    1. Regarding visibility:

Your teammate had some kind of shroud when you're not ordering them anything but that shroud disappears instantly when you order them to move or even regroup when you're near an enemy. I tested this the way i described it, i crouched near an enemy and then order them to regroup to me, then they became 'lit up like a Dutch brothel' as Lambert Irving elegantly describes, but when no order is executed then they are 'ghost's shadow'

    1. Regarding sync shots and open fire order

Sync shots are more powerful than drone sync shots because it's not limited to 200m like the drone was, you can hide behind a rock far from enemy base and out of your LOS and they will acquire all target and drop em down with their magic bullets. If the enemy are actually in your teammates line of sight and in their equipped weapons effective range then they will actually take a shot, (you can see their tracer rounds hit the enemy.)

If there are enemies in very close proximity to you and you order them to go loud then they will automatically do sync shots to those enemies and proceed to go on full assault, you can do this in the 'vanish' state too. Be careful of using this while you stow an enemy commander to a vehicle as they are considered an enemy in a very close proximity to you and will get sync shotted by your friends and will fail the mission.

    1. Regarding assault radius

If you order them to go loud they will enter assault mode. The distance in which they will engage the enemy is bound to you (i would say around 50m) if it is beyond that they would only secure their perimeter and stop moving further, so you can't sit around far from enemy base and order them to clear out the base on their own even though you're the boss. They'll get overwhelmed anyway.

    1. Regarding attachments

Ubi said attachments on ai teammate had no effects. I can confirm that this is the case, even the attachments that increase magazine size does not change anything apparently. It is purely cosmetic. The one exception is the type of muzzle that you have em equipped, anything other than standard muzzle and suppressors (Kilim, Prism, etc), and they will always go loud, other than that no stat changes whatsoever.

    1. Regarding engage distance

Ubi said that the distance that they will engage the enemy changes based on what weapons you have them equipped, i can confirm this is true although in practice it doesn't seem so. The prominent example is my Vasily, when he searches for an enemy he always charge forward, and eventually discovers an enemy at close range, rather than hang back and firing from a distance. But on open ground he mostly engage the enemy and fire first while fury and fixit still closing in on the enemy, so it does seem to work. If only the sniper role is capable of creating distance rather than closing it, it would be perfect, but i guess coding AI is hard and expensive.

    edit

    1. Regarding secondary weapons and suppressors

Despite what Ubi said, they never use their secondary weapons regardless of what you give them as primary. I tested this by giving fixit an LMG (cannot be equipped with a suppressor), initially i thought by giving them unsuppressable primary weapon they would switch to their always suppressed secondary if i ordered them to sync shot while i have suppressor equipped. In fact, they always sync shot using their primary weapons and disregard your currently equipped weapon suppressed state. You wanna make sure you hear their voice line 'going silent' etc. when you equip your suppressor as there is a glitch when you equip your suppressor and they didn't. And if you change the muzzle of their weapon to the one that can't be fitted with a suppressor they will always go loud.

Conclusion: it is pointless to give them an unsuppressable weapon as they can break your stealth, unless you wanna go rambo on a base right from the get go.

I hope understanding the ai teammate helps you with your roleplaying and immersion if you have no friends to play with.

I will add more if i learn more.

Better enemy placements / more enemies on locations

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 10:58 AM PDT

I play breakpoint everyday and have been doing so for quite some time now , I normally play an SAS character and love doing base raids , but my only problem is the placement of enemies. One of my favourite areas to do is liberty city. Always go around the city in blacked out outfits and clear all the buildings I go into , but the buildings are always empty apart from the occasional sniper on top of it. What I've been wanting is the buildings to actually have soldiers patrolling inside or just sitting down in the buildings just chilling out , adds more tension for when I'm playing being like "who's gonna be around this corner , gotta watch it" I know it probably won't be added but I was just expressing my opinion. Cheers for reading lads (and ladies).

Since I don't see people asking for TRUE Ghost Recon cosmetics very much in a Ghost Recon game, I present my "Gimme Gimme Portfolio", 3/5. Tried to keep it in order starting with GR2. I'll post the rest in time, so I'm not spamming the subreddit.

Attempted both a more dynamic screenshot and a vaguely Russian appearance- best I could do with the current customisation options. Thoughts?
