Posted: 17 Feb 2021 02:33 PM PST Hi all, I've posted this in longer threads before but I wanted to post again. This is a really fun way to play the game if you're looking for a more hard-core survival experience: Eating: To simulate eating, simply use the ration timer countdown as your "hunger meter". For example if you've eaten a protein ration, and it has a 40 minute countdown timer, when the timer reaches zero you are "hungry" and need to eat another ration. Your goal should be to always try to have a ration countdown timer active, thus keeping nomad "full" and not hungry. If you run out of food while you're in the field, you need to find your way to a bivouac in order to craft more food and pack it in your inventory wheel. Pretty straightforward. The trick to getting this System to really sing, is this: instead of just eating "one" ration, you need to eat an entire set. And an incomplete set does not count as edible. For example: if you are in your crafting menu and you see that your vigor ration has 3/7 filled, you need to craft enough to have 7/7 filled. And then you need to eat ALL of them in one sitting when you eat. So craft your rations at the bivouac, pack it in your inventory wheel, and then walk over to a tree and crouch down behind it or whatever and eat all seven of the rations in a row. Eating all of the ration set instead of just one bite will force more scarcity in the food economy and make it more meaningful when you have to find ingredients. Basically it is changing it so that a lot more ingredients are required to make food, thus making you have to forage more and search out specific ingredients in the open world. A couple of rules to keep in mind: -rations can only be crafted and stored in your item wheel at the bivouac. -only a "full set" of rations counts as something you can eat. No eating of incomplete ration sets! -pretend that the item wheel is your full inventory and that you cannot change it unless at the bivouac. Thus, you will have to pack food into your inventory wheel and think about what you have space for when at camp. It is really fun having to consider what food and gear you are bringing along for your journey. -consider the duration of the ration that you are crafting for your journey. For example you might want to craft a 60 minute ration if you're going to travel a long distance. Or you might not have enough ingredients, and be forced to use a 20 minute ration until you find more. This will create very dynamic survival situation's. -The open world actually has a bit of depth as far as where to find certain ingredients. For example, rich proteins are located often along Beaches where you can find shellfish etc. It's really fun to get a sense of what part of the world do you need to go to if you're looking to craft a certain type of food. -for an extra challenge, use this extra rule: you either have to eat ONE protein based set of rations or TWO plant-based sets of rations. This creates a difference between protein and plant-based, and changes the inventory and foraging requirements. It gives even more depth. That's it! This system creates a very satisfying game loop where you are actually having to hunt and forage for ingredients to make food and maintain nomads hunger....having to stop at the bivouac from time to time in order to create more food and pack it in your inventory. If you play the game for the survival experience, this adds a ton of depth to it. Edit: if you have been playing for a while you probably have a ton of plants and protiens. To get the most out of this system, you may want to sell a bunch of those off so that you can create more scarcity in your inventory and thus create the need for more foraging. After that though, this system should pretty much take care of itself in terms of using up your consumables and forcing more foraging [link] [comments]

Can I play Coop with my sister in the game house? Posted: 17 Feb 2021 04:30 PM PST I have a ps4 and a ps5. My ps5 is in my room and the ps4 is in the living room. Do I have to buy the game twice or can I just download it on the ps4 and create a new account for my sister? [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Feb 2021 09:50 AM PST I picked up GRB this holiday on Xbox Series X, I hadn't played or watched any gameplay videos/reviews for the game, althought I did hear a lot about the launch. Just for context I enjoyed Wildlands, and played on PC mostly, but I thought it was an OK game. While GRB improves on a number of systems, it ultimately is a disappointment to me. The game to this day has horrendous bugs, the third person cover, movement, and gunplay systems are pretty clunky. Outside of the gameplay, the story is pretty lackluster, and the cutscenes are pretty cringe, this includes the tone death acting. Honestly don't care about the storyline in these types of games, but it's shoved down your throat here, honestly the game would be better without it. I like the GR IP and Ubisoft has something here, it's just misguided. I think for the next entry the focus needs to be fully in the sandbox and improved gameplay mechanics. Have the story take a backseat, we don't need 10 or 15 different tone death character stories, don't get rid of the investigation system (that's a cool immersion addition), but the cutscenes and the drama story can be cut. Focus on the sandbox, make the world dynamic and reactive, focus on building a world worth exploring because it's fun, not because I want weapon X or attachment Y at said location. Give the player more tools and options from the start, so they can properly enjoy the sandbox instead of having the content sprinkled through random world locations. Lean into the sandbox shooter and bring better world interactions, vehicle systems, interesting tools, etc. Also please spend on time on the movement, gunplay, and cover systems, on console the GRB systems are awful (might be better on PC). Make the breakpoint have no need for ubisoft servers Posted: 17 Feb 2021 03:42 PM PST I just want the game to be like wildlands you get in without the need to be connected to the ubisoft servers and play offline. The multiplayer should be an optional thing, there's no reason to be required to be online. I dont know about other countries but in Portugal (where i live) they are blocking certain services like xbox live, Netflix(not sure) and others because of so many people using the internet and without xbox live i cant even enter ghost recon breakpoint. Edit:And fix the nightvision [link] [comments]

I can’t find a ghost war match since Amber Sky Posted: 17 Feb 2021 06:17 PM PST I'm on Xbox. I used to play ghost war almost every evening. Since amber sky came out I simply wait in matchmaking for 10+ minutes with no luck. I have got in maybe 2-3 matches in a month now. I just assumed it was a known bug and would be fixed but maybe I am the only one?! Pre amber sky I could get in a match within a minute even in off hours. [link] [comments]

Story questions, including off island travel and communications Posted: 16 Feb 2021 08:59 PM PST Okay, so, forgive me if this has been asked before. I did search first and haven't really found an answer. A few story points have been striking me as odd.
Please tell me I'm missing something. [link] [comments] |
