Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint: Developer Update – April 30, 2020

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 09:12 AM PDT

    Ghosts,

We wanted to provide a short update to keep you up to speed with what we're working on.

Our top priorities right now fall into three categories: bug fixing, synthesizing Ghost Experience feedback, and preparing new content. We'll continue to do our best to keep things moving forward as usual.

Below we've included upcoming updates alongside the release windows we're aiming for where we can include them.

    Bug Fixing – TU 2.0.5

Our next update, TU 2.0.5, is currently in the works. This TU will be focused on bug fixing to help improve the player experience.

We know that the recurring DMR exploit has had a significant impact on our PvP and Raid players. We are working on a fix to address the current reproduction steps of the exploit for 2.0.5, while continuing our efforts to find a solution that will resolve the problem permanently.

    Expected Release: June, 2020

Ghost Experience 2.0 – State of Feedback

After the release of the Ghost Experience, we put out a call for feedback. We wanted to thank you all for taking the time to contribute your thoughts and feedback – it is a truly invaluable resource for us.

We are still synthesizing the feedback with our developers to better understand if and how we can incorporate the requests. Given the amount of feedback, it's a lot to go through!

We appreciate your patience as we continue to scope what the next iteration of Ghost Experience will look like.

    Upcoming New Content

Our next round of upcoming new content is actively being worked on by our production team (alongside Episode 3 and the next class). We'll have more information to share closer to the release date. Stay tuned!

This happened to me a lot while playing wildlands mp

Listen, we don't know what happened to your friend but she looks OK to us.....

Hate to say it but I got tired of playing Breakpoint. So went back to Fallout 4 after seeing some pretty cool mods out for XB1. Man I wish BP was mod capable or BP just had the level of gear and weapon customization that these FO4 mods allow for.

Does anybody want more content apart from live events?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 11:53 AM PDT

The faction missions are basically the same every time and when there are like 10 drones in a base I just don't even try. The story has no replay value to it at all apart from 1 or 2 missions. I wish the devs would work on something more lasting than wasting their resources on another live event. Some no drone mode or daily challenges that work with the faction missions.

I think this game desperately needs a mission editor. The content the devs have created after Wildlands has been really bad. Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six missions in Wildlands were terrible. Predator was okay and I enjoyed Oracle's first part. Second part of Oracle was not that fun. Breakpoint's campaign was underwhelming. A mission editor where the players can make their own missions instead of the devs doing it would be a good idea. It would take care of the drones, solve our content needs and add replay value.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey has a story creator mode and Far Cry has a map editor. Can we get a mission editor for Breakpoint?

The customisation we all wanted in breakpoint. The new update from the devs looks like we aren’t getting a customisation overhaul of the gear, clothing and the gunsmith anytime soon. Hopefully the next GR is a polished game with an in-depth customisation of both character and gunsmith.

Am I the only one who is bugged by these things in Breakpoint?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 02:02 PM PDT

I've been playing Breakpoint for quite a while now, and, well...

-Yes Holt, I know you like telling me that you've got something I might find interesting everytime I'm in earshot ever since TU 2.0 dropped. Your inability to see that I don't find it *that* interesting stopped being funny three or four visits to Erewhon ago, and in any case I just wanna buy and sell at Maria's shop in peace.

-I know that, in British practice at least, soldiers are trained to recognise people and equipment at 200 metres or less (and at 100 metres all pertinent detail is, supposedly, clearly visible), and that the Aimpoint CCO mounted on Sentinel's SG553 rifles is good for combat out to a maximum of 300 metres in real life, but that doesn't mean that Sentinel grunts should be so accurate. Especially since they're doing the bog-standard Hollywood thing of spraying away on full auto instead of setting their rifles to semi-automatic/repetition.

-Why are Sentinel using SG553s and KSGs anyway? Everything about them indicates that they're ex-US military, and Wildlands' version of Bolivia has both Santa Blanca and Unidad (especially Unidad) using US weaponry at times, so why aren't Sentinel running around with M4s and M1014s? Especially since they're meant to be your bog-standard Blackwater expy and Blackwater contractors seem to have used M16s and M4s regularly enough in Iraq?

-I can understand Santa Blanca and Unidad getting alerted by my recce drone in Wildlands since they're not using drones themselves or operating in an environment where drones are especially commonplace, but Sentinel and the Wolves are both working alongside all manner of drones and there's also plenty of civilian drones hovering around on Aurora. My recce drone shouldn't be flagged as hostile the minute it enters someone's line of sight.

-The injury system is a nice addition and incentivises sticking to stealth (or getting your behind in cover if stealth fails you), but... I don't know if this is because the Assault class is the only one with four health bar segments while everyone else only has three or if it's due to a bug, but the first time I get hit by an injuring shot I get the minor injury and then the second time I get hit the game skips straight to the critical injury state. I've only ever really seen the intermediate severe injury state during bandaging. I don't want to be rendered combat ineffective just because the game can't be bothered to trigger the severe injury state after I get hit a second time.

-Weapon damage really does need a rework. There's no reason why both the 416 and M4A1 should deal 27 damage per hit at Mark 3 while the 516 only deals 22 damage when all three rifles are effectively the same gun (but with different furniture and upper receivers) and are firing the same 5.56mm rounds. Likewise, most Sentinel grunts don't look like they're wearing Level IV body armour, so there's no reason they should be able to take two or three (or sometimes even four) hits from 7.62mm NATO weapons before going down.

Other attributes could also have a rework. For example, I'm pretty sure that Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto both have far less recoil and shot spread for their handguns than Breakpoint does for its handguns.

-Elite missions are meant to be more difficult (it's in the name), but I think there's a difference between making them more difficult in a fair and logical way and simply plonking snipers, AT gunners, signallers, and drones all over the place. Especially if you're being asked to extract someone or steal a vehicle, thereby limiting the extent to which you can simply hop aboard an attack helicopter and start blasting away with the rocket pods. People are saying it might be an interger glitch, but I'm pessimistic enough to believe that this insane sort of base staffing might be deliberate.

Am I alone in getting peeved by these things, or are there others who share my irritation?

Contemplating getting in on Ghost recon is it worth it?

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 06:04 PM PDT

I always assumed GR was like a destiny or division game where if you got in on it late you were screwed. So I ask, is it worth it to pick the game up now?

Hear me out, ok? A .308 military sniper rifle

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 04:13 PM PDT

I want a .308 rifle in this game. It would look so cool on our character rather than the big .50 cals we have. It would be so cool to see something like the M40 or the R700 in the game as snipers The range would be about the same as the Scorpios. And it should do about 125 damage. They can have all sniper sights and the acog. To simplify it they can shoot 7.62 rather than .308 in game.

    Breakpoint Positivity

    Posted: 30 Apr 2020 03:51 PM PDT

So we all know Breakpoint has its issues, but I think it's a good thing to balance that with some positivity, so I'd like to know one (1) thing, large or small, that you liked that Breakpoint added. You don't have to suck the game or the dev's off, but what's something that at the very least you hope they keep that Breakpoint included.

For myself: I'm glad they let us remove backpacks, I enjoy making themed characters and sometimes even the camelback just does not work.
