For fun I went back and watched the E3 presentation again. Here are my thoughts as I was watching it...

I know it has be said a lot on this sub, but I wish we had this level of detail in the Gunsmith in Breakpoint. Ghost Recon deserves better.

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 11:53 AM PDT

I know it sounds silly but this free to play Roblox game has more in depth operator, gear and weapon customisation than both Breakpoint and Wildands. And it's still WIP. I think this is a good goal for Ubi to set when it comes to customisation.

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 03:06 AM PDT

UBI, if you don’t want to improve customisation details on BP, can please add set models/icons for us to use(wildlands had this). Just look at the detail on the MW models/operators. This is the stuff we want added to GR, not more raids, drones or terminator type live events. Use MW as inspiration.

this weapon could be in an upcoming update, it would be cool.

Me and my buddy got pinned down on a beach after drones killed our ride, had a blast defending

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 03:05 PM PDT

Yo Ubisoft, this is how you "force" players do to MTX (Hint: by offering quality). Why the heck is this soo complicated for UBI, to have it even as a non-customizable figure would be enough...

If I’m gonna have to wear a face mask, I’m gonna do it while repping future soldier. I also miss pre order items like this.

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 02:44 PM PDT

Follow up post: just look at the difference between MW pararescue and BP pararescue loudout. Take notes Ubisoft. You haven’t updated customisation since launch. Now that the immersive modes been released this is needed and many others are calling out for it.

If Ubi ever start putting in more clothing for Breakpoint I think I have some ideas

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 08:59 AM PDT

I want that as a secondary weapon, not a barret ...

    I love Photo Mode

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 09:14 AM PDT

It all makes sense now. The TP hoarders were just getting ready for Skell Tech Drones

I wish this game would stop focusing on crossovers and focus on being Ghost Recon

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 04:40 AM PDT

I'll start off by saying I actually do love the setting, the atmosphere and the gameplay of this game. And we can all sit here and debate what actually is a 'Ghost Recon' title as it's split between three different categories/fanbases currently, but I think we can all agree this isn't a Ghost Recon title, it's a spec ops title. And all we've gotten in these 6 months is crossovers. Don't get me wrong, I do like crossovers. The predator and R6 missions in Wildlands were great fun. Unfortunately I missed out on the Terminator mission but the new chapter seems fun so far. But I think they need to first focus on what they promised to give us, which is turning this game back into a Ghost Recon title. There's still no focus on teamwork or teammates in general (which I can forgive if the context is that they're working on it to be proper and not just an add-on), there's no focus on what the unit is supposed to be about/what it utilizes and takes an approach of a lone wolf, there's no kits or customization that really gives you that taste of being a Ghost, there's just nothing that makes you feel like you're a Ghost or be proud to be one.

I don't want to doubt Ubisoft's word when they said they would work to make this title, or perhaps the next, into a game we wanted. It's still too early to be at anyones throats. They have made improvements to the game itself, which is great. I just wish they would focus on it being Ghost Recon, as I know a decent number of us were disappointed about that. Sorry, just had to rant about this because Ghost Recon is my favorite shooter franchise and I held my complaints for this long.

What Happened To Experimental Weapons in GR?

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 05:59 PM PDT

All of the Ghost Recon games, save for Wildlands, and I believe Breakpoint, have featured some sort of experimental tech or weaponry. The original series had the OICW, GR2 had the XM8 line of rifles, GRAW featured the XM8 (for PC) and the MR-C caseless rifle. Future soldier was supposed to feature some made up weapon but dropped if after they started over on development. But kept the active camouflage and did feature the LSAT caseless machine gun. They did try to push the ACR as if it were some weapon possibly being adopted by the military. I believe talks were in place when Magpul still owned it.

Outside drones, Wildlands was way more grounded in reality. But even with the drone fetish Breakpoint, the series has drifted away from some sort of experimental weaponry. It would be cool for them to bring that theme back. Especially with the military playing around with the new 6.8mm contenders. One such is the RM277 by General Dynamics. Seems like the perfect weapon for the Ghost Recon series.

Just food for thought. It would be cool if Ubi would include older contenders like the OICW, XM8, and MR-C.

Mp5 Tactical variant NEEDS to be an mp5SD integrally suppressed old school build

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 08:29 AM PDT

It just makes sense as the other tactical variants are integrally suppressed versions. Also because I want to do Navy Seals era Michael Bien cosplay. 3 movies!

Best pistols - useful analysis with images

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 10:50 AM PDT

I wanted to finally nail down which pistols behaved the best so here is my analysis. I tested ALL pistols but only the 4 best were tested in depth. By best I mean that the other pistols available are just ridiculous in terms of spread, recoil and general behavior (some fire in a complete diagonal line, some kick way too much, some fire too slow, etc.. so they were eliminated. About the MK23, I really wanted to use it but the trigger is extremely slow compared to other pistols so I chose to take it out even though the precision is good)

    Test environment:

-Always the exact same distance and placement (15m from target, standing up)

-Immersive mode so that means pure stats (no random buffs that could affect weapon behavior) All guns fully upgraded to MK.3.

-Aim down sights, 5 shots fired "as fast as you can pull the trigger" not controlling the aim at all, just firing and holding ADS.

Being tactical and seatlhy I highly prioritize precision and stability. As usual, there is a lot of subjectivity in determining best weapons but I tried to be as objective and fair as possible in my testing. This is of course my opinion but I think you will see that these pistols are great weapons. The one considered the best is the one offering the best control, stability , accuracy and general feel.

Here are the images so you can judge for yourself (bottom 4 images show 3 lines of 5 shots for each weapon to compare them as accurately as possible, top image is the best 2 pistols IMO fired while moving)

    https://m.imgur.com/a/w51KIpa

So here are the results based on my analysis and mission use:

1 WINNER ! USP Tactical 24 dmg 12 bullets. Most stable, reliable and accurate, see images for details, really great weapon. It's also the one that kicks up the less (vertical recoil) and it has virtually 0 horizontal recoil. Very close in quality to the Maxim 9 echelon but still a bit better IMO. The Maxim 9 echelon keeps it's shots a bit more grouped together so it's almost a tie here but in mission use, the USP felt more easy to control and with a bit less vertical recoil. Even while moving that weapon fires so straight!

2 Maxim 9 echelon 26dmg 17 bullets. Close one...but it's a bit less stable than the USP and shots aren't as lined up, it fires a bit left to right as shown in images.

3 p45t 24 dmg 14 bullets. Great pistol, really stable as well but a tiny bit less than the Maxim 9 echelon.

4 p227 23 dmg 10 bullets. Great and fast pistol. The feel when moving around with it is amazing but it's a bit less precise than the p45t as bullets tend to go left and right as shown.

Hope this can be useful to you! I keep playing with these 4 and they are really the best !

What the next Ghost Recon should be

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 04:45 PM PDT

5 medium sized open world maps. Each is a Sandbox with its own primary objective and a few secondary objectives.

    Assassination Sabotage Gain Intel

Some may have time limits or you can impose your own difficulties and restrictions.

You choose the load out for yourself and your squad. You can use items such as wire cutters, scuba gear, rappelling equipment etc. You can also choose your insertion time of day and weather.

    Entry options:

Via boat/scuba diving Halo drop Ground/on foot Vehicle

    Etc

You can play in coop or with AI

New monthly missions get added to existing maps with new parameters as well as new maps.

The sandboxes would be similar in concept to Hitman missions.

I think we need a GORKA suit. It'll be amazing to have one and use it with the tchanka helmet

Are raids supposed to be fun?

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 01:14 AM PDT

I'm a bit late to the party, but I tried the raid for the first-time yesterday and need somewhere to vent my frustration.

When raids were announced it looked like it was going to be a large linear facility or complex full of wolves and drones that you assault to find that the wolves have been building a fancy murder drone you have to destroy. Once youve done it you get a load of fancy gear and maybe some camos, outfits and credits for doing it, basically the match made missions in The Division.

I was actually pretty excited for it to come out as this is what I thought it would be, but seriously what the everloving fuck is this? A free roam island crawling with drones, helicopters, jeeps, patrols and every other enemy they could ctrl+v in the empty space, no explanation as to what you're supposed to be doing.

What's even worse is the "challenge" that Ubisoft said it would be is just artificial difficulty spiking, all enemies take at least twice as much damage, spot you from 800+ metres away, never miss a shot and do 10x more damage than they do in the rest of the game. Their tactics consist of rushing you and your squad with 20 shotgunners at a time, one shot sniping you from a mile away or sending gunships, drones and jeeps that shoot you with no line of sight through rocks, trees and bushes with perfect accuracy meaning cover is worthless

This is excluding the fact that if you're a solo player like me (Only one friend with BP and he's low level), it is actually impossible to do anything with a public matchmaking squad as they all want to do their own thing and just leave the squad if they get downed rather than waiting for me the medic to fly my drone 100 metres to revive them.

Is this supposed to be fun? Or am I just bad? Because I've hated every second I was in a raid and don't want to try again, but I want the cosmetic rewards that are apparently there.

    So what is this island?

The Ghost Recon Gear Solid dilemma.

    Posted: 10 Apr 2020 10:25 AM PDT

To start I have been a Recon fan since AW1.

An even bigger fan since Future Soldier.

I liked the older ones but I rather just play old Rainbow 6.

    ——————————————————————

When I played Wildlands I figured that I would like it since I love open world games. At first I was slightly disappointed due to waiting 2 years for them to complete the game but my last play through was probably an eye opening event to my favorite game. Since 2011 it's been Skyrim. With MGSV a close second.

So after putting in 400 plus hours in Wildlands I finally played Breakpoint this week.

    1. Immersive mode Solo with moderate tactical difficulty is the best way to play the game. IMO.

    2. Just like Wildlands (or any Assassins Creed game really) I had to forget the identity of the franchise and play Breakpoint for what it is. A Metal Gear Solid cover song played by a Tom Clancy band.

    3. I am enjoying the hell out of this title.

    ————————————————————————

As for the bugs? A shit ton of them would be resolved just by removing the online dependency. But I guess when people play in Co-op that's when the bugs come out in ten fold. A lot of lag with surveillance drones. (Which I wish they would get rid of and just add more sentinel patrols).

    ————————————————————————

My final 2 cents on DLC and Updates?

    • Give us more common human enemies and rare drone bosses. Keep the drones vehicle based.

    • Give us a friendly faction to call for support that tries to take the island. Whether the homesteaders or Marines.

    • Give some form of air support.

    • Let us remote hack mortars and turrets.

    • GIVE US A CUSTOMIZABLE AI SQUAD OR FOLLOWER! And make sure we can set their class/loadout!

    • Add more ground enemies and also naval enemies.
