Ghost Recon - Ghost Recon Next - Part VI A.I. teammates can drive and pilot any vehicle, gameplay wise this adds the ability for us to shoot from vehicles (including aerial sniping), rappel from vehicles, call for an evac, etc. I feel this could bring alot to game with its open-world setting. (FARCRY 5 / MGS V)

GHOST RECON NEXT - PART VII So hear me out, and use your imagination a little, what about re-working Shadow of War's Nemesis system and Wildlands regional bosses together? (if you have never played shadow of war watch a video). I think it could give a lot player freedom and gameplay possibility.

PSA: It's been 2 weeks since the last communication from the dev team

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 01:40 PM PDT

I know, I know, it's a dead meme by now. It's also been going on for years, but it's aggravating as a paying customer to have them pop in once or twice a month to give us bullshit bug fixes for issues no one reported, and have the major issues ignored. Hayve and Bard don't reply to comments, they don't reply when tagged, they don't participate in the community at all. In any way.

I know I'm among a huge group of people who've made posts like this, but after this whole Breakpoint fiasco, I'm done with the Ghost Recon series unless another team takes it over and does it right.

This game had so much potential - The gameplay and gunplay are great and responsive - but they fucked it all away with a bland story, no AI teammates, bugs that have been in since launch still being there 7 months later, going frustratingly silent on us for weeks on end, and constantly failing to deliver on their promises (AI teammates soon! AI won't scream when shot in the head! We're gonna fix that too!).

I'm just tired of the utter lack of communication and RESPECT for the community. I'm tired of seeing gear requests, ideas that community members pour HOURS into to help the game, and some members spending hours photoshopping gear and guns to make this game better, just for it to be ignored by the dev team. They don't care, why should I?

Overall I really like the battle belt. However it would be cool if we could equip/unequip it. It’s in the game as the sport zipped sweater has no the battle belt equipped.(undercover police loudout)

    Breakpoint Episode 3: Invasion

    Breakpoint Episode 3: Invasion

    Breakpoint is great.

At least its close to being great. It definitely came out premature/undercooked without the seasoning that Wildlands had so much of at launch, but I don't think it's too late for Breakpoint to get there. At least I sincerely hope not.

The bugs and dearth of content/variation* aside, I don't think anybody can deny the mechanics, character customization, animation, base designs and the beautiful island itself are all super, super on point. A very loud shout out to all the artists, animators and level designers. Seriously. *(k Sentinel have uniforms but do they all have to be bald too?)

Yes, Immersive Mode absolutely should've been the default mode at launch and we should've been squadding up with the AI teammates slowly throughout the main story as was originally promised. Alas, Ubi felt they had to pull the trigger early and go a little more 'mainstream'. Well, I doubt I'm the only one grateful Ubi had the humility to ask (and LISTEN!) to the community, changed gears (<-pun) from out-of-place gear score churning and bullet sponging raids to focus more on the tactical spirit of GR. Yet as cute and fun as Terminator and Sam Fisher were, they also shouldn't be considered "Ghost Recon" enough to be counted as a real "Episode".

For Episode 3, Auroa needs to get invaded. Hear me out:

In a sudden geopolitical flex, both concerned and eager to get their hands on the technology for themselves, China* chooses to claim Auroa as part of their S.China Sea territory and air drops thousands of airborne troops from high altitude, above the reach of the drone cordon. Hundreds of the Halo troops are sacrificed to the drones coming down but their sheer numbers overwhelm the drones and hundreds of troops make it on to the island. (*if China is too sensitive a market for Ubisoft, replace with DPRK)

    typical PRC (or DPRK) soldier

So now China/DPRK, and their elite Russian PMC advisors, are the new (real) Faction on Auroa.

    Russian PMC 'advisor'

The Outcasts and Homesteaders unite as the New Natives or Neo-Auroans or whatever. They were kind of MIA "factions" anyway (we ever see them really do anything on the island? Nothing compared to the Rebels in Wildlands...tsk)

Unlike with Unidad, China/DPRK/RussiaPMC actively fight Sentinel on sight and have taken over some bases. Suddenly we have fresh new enemies, new scenarios and new emergent firefights everywhere to recycle and recontextualize the same environment. All you have to add is some fallen airborne in the fields and hanging from trees and we have a new game reality using all the original game assets.

    Further seasoning:

    • add a whole slew of new Russian/Chinese weapons, camos & gear
    • change behavior of reprogrammed drones, for further game variety
    • add a bunch of new faces, hair styles and please start randomizing enemy heads
    • add some foreboding former Spetsnatz as the "new wolves" and bosses along with the PRC/DPRK troops

I hope Ubisoft witnessed how beloved Ghost Recon is and realized they already had a Division. I also hope they decide to let go some of the science-fiction and bring it back to geo-political conflict the series is known for. I particularly remember when Ubisoft delayed and dialed back all the futurism in GR: Future Soldier, bringing it back down to a gritty real-world context. It was absolutely the right decision then, and it's the right decision now.

Sorry for the long post, I'm new to this /r/. Has anybody from Ubisoft ever posted here before? I'm a former game designer and have a ton of thoughts on UI for this game in particular. (Don't even get me started on PvP). Anyway thanks for reading.

Gameplay question for real combat (not airsoft) veterans out there

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 04:02 PM PDT

We see it a lot in modern games and its rampant in breakpoint: AI enemies strafing and simultaneously firing full auto rapid fire with deadly accuracy at 50 - 100 m away.... my question is: is this realistic or appropriate in a tactical shooter?

My personal experience is limited to my SBR at the range and I can confidently say that if I were to strafe around and fire full auto at something down range, I probably wouldn't hit jack shit.

Yet I'm finding this trend in modern "tactical" shooters a lot. I find it immersion breaking and nonsensical but maybe I'm wrong because after all I've never been deployed in combat. I always thought real combat was more about "stick and move": moving to a braced firing position, fire, move again, return effective fire from a stable base. Am I wrong about this? Are soldiers effectively dancing and strafing around while firing full auto at each other on the battlefield? If so are they actually hitting anything?

My perception is that all this dancing around and firing is incredibly unrealistic and dissonant with the genre. They make the bullets less lethal so that you soak up more bullets up as the enemy dances around and fires full auto with deadly accuracy. I'm wondering why AI behavior in older tactical shooters seems more believable but in newer games, developers have thrown that aside for "dance around and spray your rifle" like its quake arena or counter strike. Maybe there was a major change in combat tactics since the 90s and I'm just out of touch? My inital guess was that developers are just lazily copying/recycling AI mechanics from games like quake and destiny and thinking that they're okay in a tactical shooter because the gear is "tactical".

What are your thoughts on this? This isnt just a jab at ghost recon as I see it happening in a lot of newer titles, but it's definitely rampant in breakpoint.

Could we have this beautiful thing for the next game?

A few things I would like to see added to Breakpoint (not core gameplay/ mechanics related)

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 06:14 AM PDT

These are a few things I would like to see added to breakpoint that doesn't involve the core gameplay/ mechanics:

    • obviously more weapons and military cosmetics added to the game. We have loads of the futuristic modern wolves gear. Add some military gear as there isn't enough atm.

-improved detail on the on the gear in the game. It doesn't have to be a lot of detail, but a little bit more would be great as atm the gear and clothing is fairly bland. My character looks like an airsoft player, not a ghost.

    • add AI teammates ASAP. It will improve the experience for us solo players ALOT.

    • daily missions, like the ones in wildlands, as a replacement for the factions missions. These daily missions have rewards that can be acquired. i wouldn't even mind the crate system from wildlands tbh. Not too fused how ubi would do it but they need to add more missions and content to keep us playing the game.

    • overhaul of the gunsmith is really needed. One similar to wildlands would satisfy most players.

    • might be just me, but I would love to see the ability to add 2 attachments to the picatinny rails of the guns. A side rail attachment(flashlight maybe) and a top rail attachments( PEQ15) would be great. No idea why we can't have flashlights when sentinel soldiers have it lmao.

    • A huge improvement of the aliveness of Auroa is REALLY NEEDED. the world feels so dead. Just having NPCs driving on the roads, walking on the paths and living in the built up areas will make the game MUCH MORE ALIVE and enjoyable to play.

Add more if you want or tell me why these ideas are shit.
