Ghost Recon Breakpoint: Community Survey Results

Ghosts, Two weeks ago, we asked you to help us prioritize which elements we need to focus on to improve your experience on Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

To the thousands of players in our community who took the time to vote and share your thoughts, we can't thank you enough! Your feedback has had a direct impact on the production of Ghost Recon Breakpoint's post-launch support.

Before we get into the results, two points are very important to us:

    1. Some of the elements are not quick fixes. One of our main imperatives right now is to deliver these changes when they reach the right level of quality. We ask for your patience as we take the time needed to address your feedback.
    2. Even if a topic wasn't ranked as highly as others, we will still provide updates on its status in this article and in the future when relevant.

    COMMUNITY SURVEY RESULTS

The following results have been presented to show how each topic ranked based on the number of participating players who ranked it within their Top 5 topics.

    Ghost, don't play the raid...

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 05:08 PM PST

If you wish Breakpoint to be a Ghost Recon title, and all you wanted is a improved Wildlands of 2019, the leave your fingers off the Raid. Show Ubi that we don't want this bullet sponge MMO crap. We want GR back. They will only realise if nobody is playing the Raid. This os soo fn off of what any GR gamer expects. Damn we dont want a Division 3. There's a reason I stopped playing the Division a long time ago. And I also will never buy a Division game again. And if GR is now jist another Division looter shooter bullet sponge, then I'm done with GR too! Why the heck has every game nowadays have to be the same ol' bullcrap? All i wanted GRBP to be was an updated Wildlands of 2019 and definitely not an abonation like it is right now. Ubi, ever heard of USP or market research? If you like the Ghost Recon Franchise, this is NOT your game, altough it could be, the Mechanics are there, but some or more than one Suit is just a dumb idiot.

This is the kind of bs you have to put up with when the game MAKES YOU play with random people.

After killing BAAL, I got the Tactical Vert Grip as a reward.

For the love of GOD please fix the screaming headshots.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 04:01 PM PST

I've put up with everything in this game including Microtran$action$, various bugs old and new, graphics glitches, the always online aspect, the ridiculous loots aspect, the awkward animations that sometimes play, various meshes vertexes not weighted properly, various meshes clipping through other meshes, inaccurate ammo pouches, and more just to name a few. However, the headshot then scream is just immersion breaking and doesn't make sense for those whom try to do stealth playthroughs. Towards the end of the video it leads to me failing due to me capping a foe in the head then afterwards he screams and alerts everyone in the building.

The fact that the Tactical Vertical Foregrip is an random Raid drop only "reward" is absolutely stupid. Change it so that you can buy it in the shop!

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 05:47 PM PST

It's so awesome that all this nice stuff is behind a 4player coop RAID in a franchise that was about being tactical. :`) Who thought that this was a good idea?! I can understand it if it's only for cosmetics etc. but attachments and weapon variants in GHOST RECON? REALLY?!

What if Golem Island was not a raid, but rather an Island of harder difficulty content

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 01:54 AM PST

    So, hear me out.

After accessing Golem Island and getting our asses kicked for a couple of hours I think Golem Island would be much better off without the raid.

What if the Island was just a series of harder difficult content, a place where the most hardcore players could enter to get higher gear score items and unique rewards, but without the raid aspect.

What if Golem Island was the last refugee of the Wolfes and after completing the main storyline you have to fight them to "take back" the Island. The Island would reset every week, just like the weekly rotation of The Division 2 - and the current raid reset - where Black Tusk invades the entire map and you have to complete a series of missions to take it back. If doing so you are rewarded with higher gear score items and unique rewards not found anywhere else.

I would much rather that Golem Island would be a place that could be explored both in a group and solo. The difficulty should still be fixed, but scaled to solo or group play. I don't even think this game franchise suits raid type content, I think it is misplaced in a Ghost Recon game .

I think the way Golem Island will function in it's current state is that it will be a community divider where a lot of players will feel unwanted because they don't have the proper team to access the content or rather just want to play solo. If it is something this game don't need right now it is that even more players are leaving.

So what do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Sector 1 (BAAL) raid boss, walkthrough, mechanics and tips

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:57 PM PST

So you are doing the first raid boss, with a group of randos that don't speak your language and don't have mics, and you aren't sure what to do. Point them to this post, and hopefully you can succeed.

The boss has two main phases:

    • Blue laser only (first 50%)
    • Blue laser and purple laser (last 50%)
    • There are routinely some adds that spawn as well

    Boss mechanics:

    • The person who gets the laser will get a bar on their screen. Once the bar gets to 100%, there's an AOE rocket on that person, they die, and the laser goes to someone else.
    • The main trick to the fight is to pass the laser from person to person. This is accomplished by one player running in front of the player that has the laser. It is good to call for a switch when the laser victim bar is about 70%. This should allow plenty of time for someone to hand it off.
    • The boss has a blue exhaust port on his backside. DPS precisely in the blue vent.
    • If someone gets too close to the boss, a red AOE circle appears around him. This will switch aggro to that person, and if they stay in the circle for more than a couple of seconds, they will get electrocuted.
    • The boss will continue to track the person who has focus. The person who has focus should run back and forth in front of the boss, just enough to get him to turn about 30 degrees. The the focused person should run back the other way. This keeps the other three people (who are busy DPSing and handing off the laser behind the boss), from having to run around in circles as the boss spins around.
    • If the person with focus/aggro stands in one place for a while, the boss exhaust port will light up orange/red, and he will jet burst toward the focused person. The boss trajectory is locked before he starts to jet, so it should be pretty simple for the person with focus to just run out of the way.
    • There are also adds that spawn every so often. Call them, everyone stop what they are doing, and DPS them down. Then continue what you are doing. The adds are a good way to recharge ammo. Don't forget about the sniper that spawns up on the side. He always spawns in the same place.

    Tips and Tricks:

    • Make sure that if you give away the blue or purple laser that you wait at least one full cycle of someone else having it before you take it back. Otherwise your bar will start where it left off, and you will die.
    • The purple and blue lasers have different stack bars, so you can go from having the blue laser directly to having the purple laser and vice versa with no wait time, assuming that enough time has past for since you last had the one you are taking.
    • It is best if the people that have the laser stay fairly close behind the boss, and stay fairly still, while DPSing the boss. This keeps people from accidentally taking the laser by running in between them and the boss.
    • It really, really, really, helps if everyone has mics. If not, the person who has the laser should ping (scope in on your gun anywhere, and hit Q). That way you can at least signal to other players that someone needs to take the laser.
    • It is very helpful if the person who is taking the laser calls it, so you don't have three people running through it at once. One handy tip is to number your group - 1, 2, 3, 4. If you have the laser and your stack is getting high, you simply call the next number and that person steps in.
    • Take turns being the person with focus.
    • Use an LMG for DPS if you have one.
    • Don't use a silencer - they know you are there, and a silencer may take away some DPS, depending on your class.
    • Tune your attachments for stability (lower h and r rise if possible). Single shot or burst fire the exhaust port. The port is pretty small, so if you are just pray and spraying it, you will most likely waste most of your shots, and spend more time reloading than damaging.
    • If someone leaves and you need to go back to LFG between attempts, just have the new person jump off the cliffs where they spawn. They can try to parachute, but GL with that. They will die, and spawn down closer to the arena.
    • Have your syringes equipped, so you can heal easily if the adds get some hits on you. You don't have to worry about damage from the boss at all. If he hits you, you are dead.
    • If somebody dies, stay calm and get someone to get them up. Don't prioritize ressing over laser and adds, unless you are the last one up.
    • Having a couple medics with fast res is helpful.

Good luck and enjoy the fight! Phat lewts awaits. I got four L260 items from one boss kill. I was 203 going in and came out 233.

That's all I can think of for now. Hopefully this will help some people. I couldn't find a good walk-through earlier, so I thought that writing one might be useful. Sorry if it's a dupe. I'll update as necessary.

All I wanted was Wildlands 2

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:28 PM PST

I absolutely loved Wildlands, and so did a lot of other people judging by the sales figures. All Ubisoft had to do was take everything from Wildlands, the characters, the gear, the gameplay, the real-world themes and location, etc. add a little bit to it that was requested by the fans, and put it in a new real-world scenario. Something realistic, gritty, and respectful to the Tom Clancy universe and Ghost Recon legacy. Imagine playing Wildlands in Afghanistan, or Africa, or any other real-world location as beautifully designed and created as Bolivia. But instead they have a complete mess on their hands with Breakpoint. A game that has failed financially, further tarnished their reputation, and now they are scrambling to somehow make more like Wildlands and remove some of the massive changes they made that no one wanted. I'm glad the fans have spoken with their wallets and I hope if Ubisoft ever make a new GR game they are smart enough to go back to what made Wildlands great.

Question out of curiosity, i'm sure i'm not alone on this.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 11:44 AM PST

I am curious to know how many, if any, of you are out there are so against forced group content that you're just not touching the raid at all?

This is how i personally feel.

I am %95 a solo player. i don't see why the raid couldn't be like a strong hold in division, multiple difficulties but all soloable if you're determined enough. maybe later down the road when they add the ai companions they'll let you go in solo but as of now i'm staying away from the raid. i do not have the patience or friends list to make a 4 man grp to do this.

I don't need it again, and I don't play the Division anymore for a reason, so why the freaking heck are you making Breakpoint another Division? GR was a special game, WAS, now its like the 1000 other games I can find on Steam. Like who the heck is in charge of this??? Ever heard of an USP???

How to beat Skell Quantum Computer (Second Raid Boss)

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:36 PM PST

When you entered the tower, there will be two levels - top and bottom. On both levels are several nodes - 3 on the top and 6 on the bottom level.

On the bottom level, you have a room with 2 maps and three computer servers (which is the boss) with each has 2 activation stones. On top of the map room, there are three activators (one for killing drones, one for O2 and one for the ventilation)

The best setup for this is one person at the map+activator room, one person (Panther) on the top level and two on the bottom level.

When you enter the map room, the boss-fight will start. Toxic gas will rise. On the two maps, you see which nodes to activate on the top and which on the bottom. You run towards them to enable them. Once you enabled all of them the map room person pushes the ventilation activator. That will clear the room slowly from the toxic gas. Now, the two on the bottom level the two stones at one of the servers simultaneously and shoot it (the one on the top can come down to help if they are fast enough). After some moments, the server will close down and be on a cooldown timer. The toxic gas will start again after a while. Repeat above steps.

During all the steps, drone-adds will spawn. At first, it's only normal adds, but when you reach red level (after you shot down the servers a bit) it will be red adds which take much more damage. With the killing drone button, you can kill them all ONE TIME. You should keep that as long as possible. As well as the O2 activator, which is on a way slower cooldown than the ventilation activator. Only use it when you are near to fail activating the nodes, it will buy you a short time. Also, don't press the ventilation activator before all nodes are activated, because it will set the ventilation activator on a cooldown.

I advise you all to have these pictures open on a second screen so the map room person can give quick commands to you: https://imgur.com/a/Mka2O2Z

    Golem Island Solo Exploration

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 09:13 AM PST

Is it possible to access and explore Golem Island solo? I know 4 players are needed to take on the bosses, but I have little interest in this Metal Gear meets The Division mockery of Ghost Recon. I'm only interested in the sweet new weapon variants and cosmetics found n crates like A-TACS. There's some talk of glitching into the island solo but it's unclear how. Any experience with solo exploration would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Per u/Ramell suggestion, if there are any Xbox players who share this goal, DM me to team up and explore. I'll leave you alone to do your lone wolf thing if that's what you want, that's what I'll be doing! If we end up helping each other, cool, if not, that's cool too.
