Regarding Automod removing posts en-masse Posted: 05 Oct 2021 10:53 AM PDT So apparently, when you remove all blocked words, it blocks everything I promise you, now that the cat is out of the bag and Frontline is known, we removed the filter to try to avoid leaks, turns out that removing every filtered word fucks everything up. If you've had a post within the last 30-40 minutes removed please comment I will approve it as long as it abides by posting rules. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Oct 2021 10:49 AM PDT We all know at this point that this anniversary event would make or break the franchise for good - and UBI didn't just disappoint - this is a slap to the face for all the goodwill they'd been "trying" to achieve with the community since the disastrous launch of Breakpoint. I think at a certain point as a community manager, developer, or artist - that if you came to this subreddit, the overall consensus is that a return to form is very desperately needed. Whether that came in the form of a remaster/remake, a new entry in the franchise that embraced previous titles prior to Wildlands, it didn't necessarily matter; so long as the community felt like justice had been done to a property people felt passionate about. Instead; they announce a Battle Royale to be the next instalment of the franchise. Another trend-chasing title in an oversaturated genre, its bones picked clean by the previous dozens of dev teams who tried their hand at entering their "original idea" into the meat grinder. To be clear - it wouldn't be a difficult task to please this community, given how simple the requests or hopes are that represent this dying brand. But instead, the true colours of Ubisoft are shown once again: illustrating their obsession with charging into the fray with poorly designed, broken messes of games and charging people an unacceptable amount of money for their loyalty to a formerly good franchise. Its sad, really. I grew up with GR, along with R6 and SC, enjoyed HAWX and tried my best with ENDWAR - but the Tom Clancy brand has been dead for some time now, and it's carcass inhabited by soul-sucking, crunch enforcing executives who only want to line their bank accounts with as much currency as possible. Don't play Frontline. Don't support Frontline. Make your voices actually heard and accepted by these morons in smart casual suits. EDIT; Some of you in this post have said that you wanted a game like Frontlines. I might've been overzealous in saying that nobody wanted it, but at the same time the overwhelmingly negative response indicates just how poor of a decision UBI made by developing this. They tried it before with the Mercenaries mode in Wildlands (at the end of it's lifecycle, how smart), and now they're doing it again. If it doesn't work out the first time, I don't think trying again is a great idea. [link] [comments]

With their "new project" Ubisoft have definitely murdered the Ghost Recon franchise Posted: 05 Oct 2021 10:34 AM PDT I'm so pissed right now, I've wasted 22 minutes of my life to watch Ubisoft Bucharest make my worst fears come true and reveal a Ghost Recon Battle Royale COD copy as the next installment in the franchise. I always feared it would eventually come to this, and now that day has come. Ubisoft couldn't kill all tactics vibes in Ghost Recon enough with pseudo-futuristic drone shooter action, the franchise apparently also needed its own Battle Royale scheme. To be honest, although I had a bad feeling about this, I still hoped for some kind of Wildlands successor, where everything the GR fanbase wanted, would have been implemented. However, my bad feeling didn't disappoint. I will definitely NOT buy, play nor support this game. [link] [comments]

I expected nothing, and I'm still disappointed. Posted: 05 Oct 2021 10:54 AM PDT "There's no way", I thought, as rumors ruminated across the few people I talk to within the Ghost Recon community. "Surely, Ubisoft would have more sense than to announce some kind of Online PVP game for Ghost Recon, seeing the scornful reception towards whatever XDefiant was supposed to be." But I should know better than to expect anything more from a publisher that so desperately wants to follow trends as opposed to making the effort to set them, desperately trying to re-capture the success of Rainbow 6 Siege. A battle-royale game. A battle royale game that has supposedly spent three years in development in the same way that Anthem spent 7 years in development, which I will remind you was cobbled together literally before the E3 reveal. Ubisoft, as I had predicted, has learned nothing from Wildlands or Breakpoint. Wildlands particularly, because of how its own battle royale DLC flopped within weeks. But I guess the problem with that battle royale is that it didn't have a battlepass. After all the lukewarm reception of Wildlands, after all the backlash of Breakpoint (and subsequent band-aid patches), after all the community reception, the widespread hopes of Ghost Recon elevating to a truly open ended tactical soldiering game, the supposed promises of the Ghost Recon developers "listening to the fans", Ubisoft clearly doesn't care about the question of what Ghost Recon should be, rather the question of if they can milk it like it's Rainbow Six Siege. Addendum: I sincerely hope whoever came up with this nonsense winds up unemployed, because this is unacceptable. [link] [comments]
I don’t think a single soul asked for another ghost recon battle royale Posted: 05 Oct 2021 10:55 AM PDT They tried it in Wildlands. It died quick. Now they are trying again but F2P. It's not gonna succeed. The BR market is already saturated and people are getting tired of them. The only good thing I see from this reveal is that first person could possibly return in the next mainline game. Edit: also forgot to mention that the gameplay itself looked like shit. Poor weapon/optic models, clunky gunplay, stiff animations, etc. Warzone blows this shit out of the water in terms of polish. Ubi has no chance. Part of me is glad the game will fail, but also it's sad to see Ghost Recon die. It had so much potential. It could have been a more casual "Arma" that blends milsim and arcade. Ghost Recon Frontlines isn't even an Out-Of-Season April Fools Joke Posted: 05 Oct 2021 10:51 AM PDT (Reuploaded because it got removed) Of all the things they could be devoting time into, they chose to make a trend-chasing Battle Royale that looks damn near indistinguishable from Warzone. Classic Skins for Breakpoint are cool, along with the fact that they're gonna be free, but actual cosmetic parts (vests, pants etc) would've been cooler. I'm genuinely shocked that Ubisoft is THIS out of touch to pull of a stunt like this. [link] [comments]

To The Ghost Recon Game Developers & Ubisoft Executives... Posted: 05 Oct 2021 02:30 PM PDT I just need to say, Devs... My disappointment isn't specifically directed at you. I'm sure you all worked hard on Ghost Recon Frontline. You were tasked with the project, and you did the best you could. So please don't take my disappointment as a personal attack on you. With that said, I can't express enough of how heartbroken and disappointed I am at the direction this franchise given the news today. As many others have stated including myself, it completely displays an Out of Touch presence. Frontline is in the complete opposite direction of what Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon has been at the core to date - Or at the very least, the spirit of what the franchise has been. I'm not sure whose idea Frontline was as the next Tom Clancy Ghost Recon title, and call me naive but it doesn't sound like an idea that derived from Devs, and Community Managers that have actually been a part of the Ghost Recon franchise. There were tons of calls for Wildlands 2, better realism (no enemy drones, more realism mechanics), improved immersion, new story, new location, updated graphics and mechanics. And what you took from that is.... The community wants a Battle Royale PvP game. And 3 years of working on said brand new game that the majority didn't ask for. And not even implied at. Heck here I am waiting for an immersion toggle option to make apparel camo matter (allow color/camouflage to matter), and instead 3 years goes by... I get a saturated market PvP game. It just doesn't add up. And if leaders within Ubisoft don't know why so many people within the community feel disappointed, heartbroken, disrespected, insulted, angry and feel like the franchise has just died... Then Ubisoft is Out of Touch. Or, they straight up just don't care. Edit typo. [link] [comments]
