    I just realized Wildlands has the same plot as Clear and Present Danger.

    An American gets in bed with a drug cartel and gets killed for doing something stupid.

    The killed American was close friends with someone in the government, thus an operation is green lit that is motivated by revenge.

    An SF team is deployed covertly to disrupt and eradicate the drug cartel.

    Government entities cut deals with cartel bosses and fuck up everything the operators achieved.

    The sad thing is that Breakpoint doesn't have Tier 1 Mode and Weekly Challenges from the Wildlands. Battle pass was a good idea, it's a pity that the developers had to abandon it. Without it, going through Faction Missions is completely pointless.
