    Ghost Recon Breakpoint in 2021

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 10:08 AM PST

Anybody else dealing with spotty performance lately?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 06:10 PM PST

Took a break to play Cyberpunk 2077 and came back a couple days ago, and I'm getting a lot of stuttering that I didn't get previously.

    My specs:

    Intel i7-9750 @ 2.6ghz
    32GB RAM
    RTX 2060 6mb
    1440p res

Playing off an SSD as well. Ordinarily get a steady 45fps which is acceptable to me (I grew up playing games at 20-25fps, so anything above 30 is a dream to me :)).

I've dropped detail down further (mostly a mix of ultra/high), and am not even hitting the peak VRAM usage with the settings I've got. Playing in Vulkan mode.

Kinda sad that Cyberpunk 2077 performs better than Breakpoint. Not normally one to complain, but something has changed. I'm guessing a recent Windows/graphics driver update is at least partially responsible.

    Reindex Reload Mechanic

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 04:54 AM PST

This is a concept aimed more at any future GR release than as an update within Breakpoint. It would be based on any sequel to BP pushing in a more immersive/realistic direction with limited hud elements favouring immersive alternatives.

The ammo loss on reload mechanic we have in BP is good (although nullified by the abundance on ammo available), but I think it could be improved with a reindexing system i.e. keeping partially filled mags instead of discarding them.

In this system interactions would be as follows:

    • Pressing square would cause a regular reload: magazine drops to the ground, any ammo remaining in the ejected magazine is lost whilst a fresh/fullest available mag is loaded. This is a quick animation ideal for a firefight.
    • Holding square would cause a reindex reload, where the current magazine is ejected and stored on the plate carrier whilst a fresh/fullest available mag is loaded. This would take slightly longer, and is best done in cover.
    • Continuing to hold square beyond this (or when a full magazine is already loaded) would cause the player to begin to sort previously indexed magazines transferring ammo between them to create as many full magazines as possible (thus preventing loading a magazine with only 1 or 2 rounds in later on). Empty magazines would be discarded creating room to pick up fresh magazines when available. This animation would take longer still depending on the number of magazines that needed to be sorted. This is best done out of combat.

On a HUD element, ammo would be displayed as ammunition in current magazine, and then a number of icons representing magazines available (similar to the system suggested by bay12plz343 here). Full magazines display in white, whilst partial magazines appear in yellow or red if below 1/4 full, empty magazine pouches are greyed out. The player isn't aware of a precise ammo count, but is given a general idea.

Ideally though this system would work without a HUD, with the player having to keep in mind their previous actions, or to remember to sort ammo regularly when given the chance. However - by tapping down on the d-pad, the player can do a quick clip check (this animation will be able to play even if the player is moving - similar to now when you equip/change weapon). This will temporarily present an accurate ammo count in the magazine currently loaded, so the player will know if it makes sense to reload now, or continue play with the remaining rounds. To work out what other magazines are available the player will have to visually look at their character model where the remaining magazines will be accurately depicted on the plate carrier/battle belt (although without indication if they are full or not).

When acquiring full magazines from ammo caches, any empty magazine pouches are automatically filled with no interaction from the player other than 'running over them' (as it is currently). However if the player has a partially filled magazine, they can hold the dynamic interact button whilst near the full magazine to swap it out. Dropped magazines from enemies will always be partial magazines with a randomly assigned ammo count (assuming dynamic enemy ammo tracking is unfeasible), making infiltrating an armoury the clear ideal option to resupply.

Whilst a system like this probably wouldn't work in most shooter games, I think in GR where stealth is the primary play style and even automatic weapons are often set to semi auto or burst and ammunition is used conservatively almost by default it could work well. Similarly to the idea behind injuries and healing, replacing ammo should be fairly infrequent outside of an open battle, so the mechanic would become something to be mindful of that rewards proper planning when you get into a tough spot, rather than an annoyance the player has to constantly babysit.

TLDR - players can choose to dump or keep partially filled mags if they reload early, and need to pay attention to magazines rather than total ammo count.

Ghost recon won't run xbox one.

    Posted: 04 Jan 2021 02:22 PM PST

I recently got and downloaded Breakpoint on my Xbox one S. However, it will not load. It gets to the point where I set the parameters for the game, then it starts loading and I can't really see the loading screen and then it sends me back to the homepage of xbox and shuts down the game. Interesting enough, the screen goes white before loading me into the start screen. Has anybody experienced this? What do I do? Please help.

Inventory bug: Syringes cannot be used despite having 4/4 of them

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 09:34 PM PST

As soon as I got the breach cutter tool thing, I could no longer use my syringes. Restarting my game didn't work, selling them all and re-crafting didn't work, setting my bandage limit to infinite didn't work, re-binding the syringe key didn't work either.

Is this fixable? My friends and I are playing it on a really REALLY hard difficulty and never being able to have full health aside from one friends medic box makes it real hard to play. (We like getting into the shootouts, so having health is kinda a must)

Im honestly baffled at this lol. How is the possible something i did from my end? Its possible that i made my character from wildlands would it transfer over?

Its a blonde nomad with a pony tail. That says much 😂
