Some appreciation for the Amber Sky event and the 'BREAKPOINT' team in general Posted: 27 Jan 2021 07:35 AM PST Amber Sky event was great. Thank you for the fun, and all the great work the team has done to improve Breakpoint! The atmosphere for the event was fantastic and I love the new mechanics that were added as well. Absolutely loved co-oping through this event and even playing it solo with some members of the Rainbow Six team. In general, I think the Ghost Recon Breakpoint team has done a great job of really improving the game. Seriously, this game has so many options for you to tailor the experience to your liking, and it's really appreciated! It's events like this that keep the game installed on my PC and I hope we get many more, because I'll always return for them. I've enjoyed all of them so far and I really hope the team working on the game has the support at this point to keep adding awesome content and maybe even a few new cool features. Personally, I wouldn't mind if the gas mask system sticks around in some form after the event is over. I will also add that it was great to see a new hairstyle pop up, though I'm not sure about the choice for it. Still, would love more cool character customizations as rewards in the future. All the best, team - and thank you for all your work! o7 [link] [comments]
I really enjoyed this Rainbow Six event! Posted: 27 Jan 2021 11:53 AM PST Thank you devs. I enjoyed playing through this mini campaign. Plot was decent enough. I liked the stealth missions we had for it. And breaching missions were great too. Albeit wolves appearing from nowhere behind you was kinda cheap (next time we always mined the whole area and that did the trick). What I loved was the new shotgun we got. It feels GREAT. Because it is finally a reliable shotgun I can use from 3rd person. Has amazing range and rate of fire is nice as well! At any rate. Keep up the good work, Ubi. I am enjoying this game more and more. Maybe you guys can make survival elements better at next update or in next game. I loved the concept art where you had actual paper map and journal to look through, without having to go to menus all the time. Anyhows. Good stuff. 👍 [link] [comments]

The hard truth - why Breakpoint will never be fixed Posted: 27 Jan 2021 10:04 AM PST I read through the entire feedback thread yesterday, and what I found was incredibly disappointing. There were five posts that called the event "fun," three that criticized the mission design, one that asked about improvements to AI, one that pointed out a continuity error in the writing and all the rest were aimed at visual inconsistencies in the cosmetics. Hopefully this is because of the staggered release schedule between the update and the event itself, but it doesn't change the miniscule proportion of players giving feedback that seem to care about actual GAMEPLAY Fundamentally, playing Breakpoint now vs when it released is the same loop. You fall down a procedurally generated cliff until you find a route that allows you to climb it like Skyrim, you sneak into a base, you shoot at oblivious enemies until you get caught, you press F for your buddy who's game just crashed, you get stuck on a rock trying to take cover, heal an injury, realize you've accidentally created a trap the AI can't possibly escape, and mow the rest of them down as they funnel into a single doorway. The only difference is you don't have to worry about level (definitely the biggest improvement), how many injuries you take, how many annoying drones you have to deal with, and how cool your personal character looks while doing it. The real problems here, level design, AI behavior, character control, netcode, stability, and your lack of tools to traverse the world have changed very little over this game's lifespan. In fact, certain updates have made it laggier, more prone to crashes, and I could swear my aim assist got even more unreliable than it already was with this last one. But it's gotten lots of new missions, cosmetics, and customization fixes because that's what fans have been asking for as far back as the roadmap poll at the beginning of last year. The problem is they're frustrating to use when they rely on systems that are broken Now I think we can circumvent a lot of these issues without having to restructure entire bases and geometry with a grappling hook. This would allow you to set up a reliable route up and down Auroa's more unforgiving terrain for your team, escape buildings through windows and rooftops as they're being stormed to flank the AI, and set up some really cool window breaches and top down assaults in urban environments. The rest will require time and attention to iron out the technical issues once and for all and completely overhaul the AI. That means cosmetics and expansions will have to wait until the game is actually fun to play so there's an intrinsically rewarding sandbox to use them in. But if we stay our current course, Breakpoint will never be fixed [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jan 2021 07:45 PM PST I got beef with it. Whenever i'd shoot at those lil guard towers its like the occupants inside never die until i actually get the damn shell to hit the inside roof of it. I guess its accurate? Idk lol i would think the splash would touch them still. [link] [comments]
[Breakpoint] The grab feature is awful. Posted: 27 Jan 2021 07:08 PM PST I don't hate the grab feature. In Wildlands, it was the only way to hide a body. But in Breakpoint, oh. Oh boy. Really the Main reason it sucks is that if you are too close, or too far, it will go to the optimal distance, and then do the lengthy animation. Honestly, I wouldn't care much if they wouldn't do anything during that time where you set up the grab if they wouldn't start spotting, or if already almost spotted, shooting. In Wildlands, if you grabbed an enemy, detected or not, it would start the animation without moving or doing any unnecessarily moves. It's just ironic that a stealth based feature can kill the stealth so easily. Even if I have to go through a sensor door, I'd rather just kill them and move the body, rather than doing a grab. The Academy Award for best actor... Posted: 27 Jan 2021 02:04 PM PST ... goes to the English guy playing Freddy Porter in The Devil We Want. Probably the worst and least animated voice acting I've ever heard in a game. Did they just get the work experience kid to do it? Also that mission sucked, way too easy to be spotted. Immersive setting request: hunger system that works like the gas filter in amber sky Posted: 27 Jan 2021 12:59 PM PST A request for a feature in the next immersive mode update: A hunger system that functions like the gas filter system in amber sky. Instead of putting on masks, you would be eating rations. Eating rations would keep your hunger meter full. when the hunger meter depletes, your stamina degrades very quickly etc. Like the gas filter system, faster types of movement use up the hunger meter faster. A couple of settings for how extreme it could function would be great. Would be a toggle in the immersive mode settings as it would be mainly be targeted towards Hardcore players. This would also give more meaning to the rations in the game instead of having them be just for buffs. [link] [comments]
