    TU 2.1.0 Changes to Gunsmith in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Breakpoint

    Ghosts,

    As we mentioned in our most recent developer update, our team has been working on changes to the Gunsmith. We're excited to say that with the release of TU 2.1.0 for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Breakpoint, players can expect to see the first phase of these changes! Thanks to everyone who took the time to provide their feedback and suggestions, as we've been busy implementing meaningful upgrades to the system.

    Trigger Customization

    To improve customization in the Gunsmith, we added more options for players to select their firing mode. This means that some burst/automatic weapons (like SMGs) will have the option for single fire/full auto, and some single fire/full auto weapons (like ASRs) will have a burst/automatic option. The mode you chose will not have an impact on the damage done — only the shots fired.

    These new options will be directly available to all players once they have unlocked the associated weapon blueprints.

    As a reminder:

    • Single fire is one bullet fired per pressure on the trigger.
    • Burst is three bullets fired per pressure on the trigger.

    Below is the full list of SMGs that will have the option for single fire/full auto:

    Fore and Angled Grips

    Based on the conversations we've seen from the community, our team noticed a lot of feedback on the placements of the foregrips on assault rifles. Changes will affect assault rifles, submachine guns, and shotguns.

    New Control Shield (Muzzle) for ASR and New Muzzle Brake for SNR – Maria's Shop

    We have added two new muzzle options to Maria's Shop. The control shield will provide a unique look for three separate weapon groups, which includes a specific muzzle visual FX.

    If you want to try them out, we recommend giving the following combinations a test in the field:

    • Leupold with the P90
    • VC16 with the G28

    Further Gunsmith Additions

    Beyond the additions and fixes listed above, the GL M203 Grenade Launcher and the 50-Round Extended Magazines are selectable for Shorty variations. We also integrated the Socom Mini, the specific Assault variations suppressor, as well as a new 100-Round Extended Magazine for selected ASRs.

    The Socom Mini will be unlocked by default in the Gunsmith for all players that have unlocked the related weapon blueprints.

    The GL M203, 100-Round and 50-Round Extended Magazine can be purchased in Maria's Shop. If you have already purchased the GL M203 or the 50-Round Extended Magazine before this update, it will automatically unlock for the new compatible weapons.

    TU 2.1.0 Gunsmith/Weapon Improvements & Bug Fixing

    As we provide additions to the Gunsmith for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, we're also improving the state of weapons and attachments that currently exist. Here's what you can expect in TU 2.1.0.

    Improvements

    • Converted AK47 Assault set to an SBR
    • Added GL M203 to 416 CQC
    • Total retake of Weapon's UI Icons (weapons and attachments)
    • Update on positions of fore/angled grips for all under-barrel attachments
    • Modifications on hands positions and rotations on all foregrips in order to avoid wrist tension
    • Modified 516 CQC and EVO3 TAC side Picatinny position and move hands to avoid overlapping
    • Worked on framing update in Gunsmith's hidden menu mode
    • Retakes on G36 and 553 under-barrel Picatinny rails
    • Retakes on hand position in GL M203 (now placed on mobile part instead of trigger)
    • Retakes on the positions of GL M203 (now close to magazines) on every weapon

    Bug Fixing

    • Fixed an issue where AOR 2 Paint would not unlock after the conditions are met
    • Added some missing model parts to the Gunsmith, including parts for UMP CQC and Folding Ironsight
    • Fixed an issue where scope color did not fit Quantum Theme Pattern
    • Fixed an issue where selecting a pre-selected attachment in the Gunsmith would sometimes make the model disappear
    • Fixed an issue where "Damage to Drones" text would be inconsistent on upgrades for different weapon classes
    • Fixed an issue where the camera would clip when players would aim the LMG Stoner with Ironsight scope
    • Fixed an issue where Weapon Connoisseur Challenge would not be awarded after getting 80 blueprints
    • Fixed an issue where shooting sound would be missing on C-SFP Baal
    • Fixed an issue which would prevent players from unlocking upgrades for the MK2 and MK3 even with perks unlocked in Ghost War
    • Fixed an issue where the preview for Tactical Vertical Foregrip would be missing in Vector's Gunsmith
    • Fixed an issue that would prevent players from getting material parts after dismantling weapons in Ghost War

    Future of the Gunsmith

    Beyond the additions to Gunsmith in TU 2.1.0, players can expect to see further changes to Gunsmith this fall. These changes will include: the addition of customization for stocks, further under barrel compatibility and variety, new attachment options, and more!

    95% of posts here are just people whining that Ubi won't spend time and money to add useless cosmetics. If you all wanted Breakpoint to be better than what it was, stop begging Ubi to make it flashy and pressure them to make a better game. I can't remember the last time I've seen actual discussion in here about what could be done to revive the GR series or what to improve on, all I see are people saying "IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR UBI, WHERE ARE MY COOL FACE MASKS".

    Ubisoft doesn't give two shits about the GR series anymore, at the very least, breakpoint, and if they think the only people who love GR are the same people who only bitch about them not adding every cosmetic that they want, they probably won't think there's any reason to invest in its future anyways. It's gone way past a passionate community voicing their concerns, it's turned into cesspool of people who think Ubisoft owes them better cosmetic content. This subreddit has had a bigger downfall than the GR series itself, the fact that there's an actual "Ubi pls" flair really shows how shallow and useless this subreddit is.

    As A Stealth Fan, Breakpoint is better than both Wildlands & Future Soldier in its current state

    Disclaimer: This is from a stealth gamer perspective. If you prefer going in loud and proud, I COMPLETELY understand how both of those games would be better than Breakpoint for you. If you're not a fan of stealth,I'd still love to hear your opinion but this is focused on stealth

    Wildlands:

    The game still looks beautiful and the map is WAY more diverse and interesting than Breakpoint, but that's the only place it shines. The animations are STILL janky and the stealth is truly terrible. You can't even move bodies, they just vanish into thin air. From a stealth gamer perspective, that's unforgivable. The AI teammates we wank in this sub were POOR. Compared to the older games the AI mates were barely anything more than point and shoot. You can't even change day/night modes so you're forced to play day for hours and night for minutes.

    The customization options do kill Breakpoint in most areas for sure.The amount of helmets, masks, backpacks, etc are astounding and just mouth-watering. Helmet + Facemask should have been in Breakpoint, it's unforgivable it wasn't.

    Future Soldier:

    For older fans of the series, you probably already know why I rate Future Soldier so poorly. It was an on rails shooter that was so linear it made eyes water. I did enjoy the teammates FAR more than Wildlands and the characters were better as well. The stealth felt better, the weapons were more vast and the setting melded extremely well with the tone. If it were open world or open area, it'd slaughter Wildlands.

    Breakpoint has far better stealth than Wildlands, evidenced by the fact that you can ACTUALLY MOVE BODIES. The ability to switch to night mode instantly is a HUGE leg up as the entire game can be played in night mode and stealthily. The base design isn't even a comparison as Wildlands truly was terrible in this aspect.

    The raid is Division Lite which automatically makes it a failure in Ghost Recon though the map definitely is nice. It should have been part of the main game though as I will never raid again.

    If Breakpoint would have had a more interesting map, it would have been better than Wildlands in nearly every way.

    The stealth + Splinter Cell DLC make the game feel like a combination of MGSV freedom to base tackle + Splinter Cell atmosphere of base infil and exfil.

    Not all weapons are confirmed. They may have miss typed or I may have miss read. Considering this is Ubisoft in Paris, spelling mistakes could've been made.

    Just saw the gunsmith update notes. So we get stuff like a 100 round mag for the 416 (wtf?), new scopes (noone asked for) and the position of GL's and grips slightly gets adjusted. Cool?

    Excuse me if i'm totally blind here, but how does this all make the game more ... Fun? Engaging? Interesting? Who is coming back to Breakpoint because he heard that the VHSD2 now has a burst mode?

    Same with the AI teammates ... A good amount of people wanted the option to remove them from Wildlands, and that for good reason. Yes, they can be cool. But if there is no story and no features apart from synch shot to support them? What are they contributing? Another layer of braindead AI, just for the blue team now.

    The entire concept of Breakpoint (being alone and hunted) is even more unaccomplished now. It's wildlands but empty.

    And it doesn't matter on which side you are on, if you love the game or hate it. Please stay on the topic and argue respectfully.

    TL;DR: The updates don't bring Breakpoint forward / in a direction of what was advertised. I don't understand how AI teammates and gunsmith gimmicks are improving the gameplay loop.

    2 new game modes that would (imho) save the game

    So i just thought about how Ubisoft could instantly improve the game to improve the game loop and use the already created assets ingame better. This is a toilet thought, but maybe worth of discussion.

    Gamemode #1 Survival (PVE)

    • Lobby up with random players (4/8/12)
    • Spawn together or quite seperated on a random location
    • Limited intel (no map, minimap)
    • Limited gear (everybody can select one pistol + 1 gadget, like a drone)
    • Limited ammo (seriously limited, like 2 mags)
    • AI acts realistic, actually hunting you (if you attack an outpost, they send task forces so you have to be either stealthy or get the heck outta there after like 5 minutes)
    • The longer you stay in an area where the enemy knows where you are, the harder it gets)
    • Goal of the game is to collect intel and complete a final mission

    Gamemode #2 Prey (PVP)

    • Similiar to Dying Lights "Be a Zombie" mode, you activate the Prey option
    • Others can join your lobby as Wolves/Opfor and try and track you down
    • You have to stay below radar, while the Wolves have to manually search for you
    • If you go loud on an outpost, Wolves get that location and try to intercept you/your group

    Of course these ideas need things to flesh it out, but i think generally those modes would improve the replayability and gameplay loop so much.
