Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Breakpoint: Immersive Mode Update

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 10:11 AM PST

    Ghosts,

Earlier this year, we shared that the new immersive mode and the Engineer class were coming by the end of February. After careful consideration by our development team, we have decided to move their release.

Our objective with the new immersive mode is to provide an impactful update to the game using your feedback as the foundation. The immersive mode is built upon the results of the Community Survey, your observations gathered by our Community Managers, and workshops with the Delta Company alongside extensive playtesting. We are in the process of creating an experience that will change the way you are able to play Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

The complexity of integrating this new mode has proven to be a challenge and we want to ensure that the experience will be a great one when it releases.

The immersive mode will still release this Spring, we'll share more firm timing as soon as we are able.

The Engineer class will be released alongside the immersive mode and we are hoping to release Episode 2 with this Title Update as well.

We understand that you have been requesting more transparent communication and we aim to provide this whenever possible. There are a lot of moving parts in development which has made locking in dates challenging so we haven't been able to communicate as much as we would have liked. We apologize for that and will be providing details on these upcoming additions starting early next month.

Check back in on March 5th for an intel drop on the immersive mode.

I’m honestly disappointed, don’t know what I expected. I truly feel bad for folks that are left hanging with no content for their $$ with the season pass, I got the game for $20 in an Xbox store sale. But to pay for a deluxe or ultimate edition, for a game that’s supposed to be a “live service”...

With the recent announcement of the immersive overhaul delay, it's sad to hear the unfortunate and untimely death of a beloved franchise RIP, gone but not forgotten.

    Update delayed till "Spring" ..........

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 10:18 AM PST

And this Ladies and Gentlemen, is the final nail in this games coffin. Absolutely ZERO F'ing communication all this time and now, 24 hours before when updates typically come out, we get the usual Ubisoft BS "Delaying to ensure its quality."

This F'ing game is officially dead Bois.

    UbiParis at Work

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 01:40 PM PST

    Ubi Paris right now...

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 09:50 AM PST

The delay isn't the problem, the communication and lack of Interaction is

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 03:22 PM PST

If they had told us about the delay a week ago I'd have been fine with it. Even better if they had announced the delay but also told us what the update is aiming for and maybe some screenshots or video teasers of new features.

    But no.

    Nothing.

Completely ignored us before letting us down.

    Again.

Hey Ubisoft Paris, now that you ruined ghost recon could have the decency and leave your grubby hands off splinter cell?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 03:45 PM PST

I don't need Sam Fisher in a barren empty open world live service. Least of all from a studio that doesn't even know what the word "live service" means. You are an incompetent developer that fails at delivering a product at every given stage. The decent thing for you to do at this point is not ruin another franchise.

    Not Breakpoint

Welp, there goes my hopes and dreams for Breakpoint being revived in a new update [OC]

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 11:08 AM PST

I think we can kinda agree that UbiParis should not work on another Ghost Recon title

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 06:21 PM PST

I mean, look at this shit storm with Breakpoint and Wildlands. At least UbiMontreal and Massive knows how to communicate.

Cant wait for the massive restructuring the Ubisoft Paris studio goes through after this.

Seriously. A whole lot of jobs are going after a failure of this scale and reception

Not Mad about Immersive mode delay; More mad about the No Patch in February meaning Battle Belts glitch and DMR glitch still in game for another month..at least.

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 11:38 AM PST

Big Immersive mode ....understandable for a delay

Fixing Battle Belts?(i cant believe i'm even saying this) Fixing DMR glitch? Fixing Item Wheel? Stamina Nerf?.

It is one thing to delay an entire mode but no patches in between? Sigh..

    Breakpoint Is Officially Dead

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 06:08 PM PST

As an ultimate edition holder I bought the highest tier so I could play with my friends early. Looking forward to playing a more immersive and beautiful WL I was hyped up; ready for tactical infiltration and some stealthy shooting. The game began with a decent set of cutscenes and some survival as a recently shot down soldier I had high hopes. The game was gorgeous and seemed great so far. As time went on, however, glaring problems began to arise. Not only was just about every interaction with an NPC horribly dry but the characters had almost no facial expression. What was this "tiered loot?" Oh well, I can move past. I looked at my gear to change my camo and here I saw "unlock through chests at Golem Island." I looked to see where that was and found a message telling me I must be gear level 150 to go to the island. My friend and I ground levels like nobody's business. Doing side and main missions to keep going up and tediously replaying homestead missions to get gear. After a few days of grinding levels we were finally there. Ready to do a raid and finally get camo. Only there was an issue. The raid wasn't put in the main game release meaning no multicam for a indefinite time. As I continued to play my disappointment with the game grew. Bugs like losing my thermal vision AFTER unlocking all the skills, falling through the ground, bullet Sponge enemies, horrible character interaction, no AI characters, dry world and story. As the weeks went on I found myself playing less and less. Maybe hopping in for a small update or when they added multicam. Now, as I waited for the new update, I consider deleting the game. The raid is mediocre, the terminator event was cool but I stopped playing after I finished. They still haven't improved any customization of anything let alone guns. Now I see, 5 days before the end of the month that it should be released and after giving us 0 updates all month, they say they are delaying it. All I can say now is that I am so dissatisfied as a consumer that if I could sue Ubi Paris, I would. If I could find a way to sue for false advertising, I would. I don't plan on purchasing anything that has the Ubi Paris stamp on it ever again. The head of development as well as the developers need to be fired. Anyone involved in the decision making for this game needs to be blacklisted. They had a template, they didn't build a game from scratch. They had every GR game before this one to pull from. It isn't just stupidity or trial and error. It's flat ignorance. Ubi Paris is ignorant. I hope the shareholders take notice and refuse to have their names associated with any Ubi Paris game made.

    Color Me Impressed

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 12:18 PM PST

Honestly it's astonishing how terrible this game and particularly this update has been handled.

I myself have been a fan of Ghost Recon and Tom Clancy games for years. I have played the VAST majority of the Ubisoft titles, and most of them have been solid enough games. At the very least, they were playable.

When Wildlands came out, it absolutely blew me and my squad of friends away. We played it for years. When Breakpoint was announced, the hype could not be contained. We talked for hours on how we hoped X would be in the game, or if we would be able to do Y.

Flash forward to now, and a subreddit gives out better ideas, better story suggestions, hell even better public communication templates than a multi-million dollar game studio. My squad can't even stand to play the game, much less play it to completion. We can't even have complete fucking ghille suits...

    This is pathetic.

Ton Clancy would be ashamed of every last one of the team leads on this project.

Pull yourself together and fix this.

Oh well, breakpoint ran its course. Can’t wait to hang out with the old crew again and take down some Santa Blanca.

    What did you expect?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 11:12 AM PST

Why the fuck do we need to wait until March 8th to hear about the immersive experience? Did Ubisoft tell them to postpone release as to not conflict with the division 2 expansion?? This whole thing was handled so poorly I'm astonished

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 01:17 PM PST

    Edit: March 5th

I mean, wow. I wasn't expecting a lot but I was expecting at least something...
