Playing with no hud makes the game 10 times more engaging. Knowing that guys are running up on you but not being able to pinpoint from exactly where makes for some thrilling moments.

    Revisiting SLINGS and HOLSTERS

    Revisiting SLINGS and HOLSTERS

A while back I made a post about holstering changes, and I'd like to revisit the topic.

Guns floating on our back doesn't capture the authenticity of the Tom Clancy brand. They float off of our backpacks and even clip awkwardly in some cases.

Operators keep their rifles slung over the front, but Ubisoft doesn't actually need to make slings. By making our primary (with some exceptions I'll get into in a bit), our Ghosts will look more like the special forces operators of today. Instead of making and animating slings, Ubisoft can instead opt for what they already do: stick the rifle to the front as if on Ghost magnets.

This kind of system can also be seen in Rainbow Six: Siege, the Army of Two games, Modern Warfare (2019), and the World War Z game.

    1. Look cool 2. Know where you are 3. Look cool

This image is what I envision this looking like. The following images are for an example using ingame animations and contain clipping issues.

Ghosts can carry two rifles (or just one, thanks Ubi!). Our primary rifle should go in front while our secondary rifle - if we choose one - goes on our backpack in the spot primaries currently occupy.

Weapons that go in front if primary and the back if secondary include:

    • ASR (Assault Rifles)
    • DMR (Designated Marksmen Rifles)
    • SMG (Submachine Guns)
    • STG (Shotguns)

These are weapons that real world operators sling up front for quick access. It's all about what works, and what works looks cool.

Primary (ASR) in front, secondary (DMR) on the back

Weapons that always go on the back include:

    • SNR (Sniper Rifles)
    • LMG (Light Machine Guns)
    • GRL (Grenade Launchers)

These weapons are for the most part too big or heavy to realistically sling in front. You'd risk tripping or knocking your junk.

    Positioning example

Existing sling animations (the rifle, not the character) can either be recycled or serve as an inspiration

    Exceptions and Rules:

    • Primaries will always appear on the front
      • UNLESS the primary is an SNR, LMG, or GRL. Then it will appear on the back.
    • Secondaries will always appear on the back
      • UNLESS the primary is an SNR, LMG, or GRL. Then it will appear on the front.
    • SNRs, LMGs, and GRLs will always appear on the back
      • IF both the primary and secondary are one of these weapons, they will both appear on the back in the original style.

    Operator operating operationally

No need for modeled slings with physics, just patented experimental Ghost technology (though physics would be pretty good), and already a step closer to real world operators.

    I've had enough...

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 07:04 AM PST

I love this game and the series and I trusted that when I bought the game when it realeased will become better over time, because you know games can make a U turn from launch. But now it's February and the game still has game breaking bugs that it had at LAUNCH! And not to mention that the new cosmetics fucking clip through everything and you got rid of equipment from the vests and replaced some vests with questionable items. I mean for the love of god who thought it was a good idea to put GREEN mag pouches on the fucking golem field medic vest. Their is a ton more problems that I could list here and that's exactly what I'm going to do. This is coming from someone who has over 150 hours in game so I've almost explored everything that the game has to offer.

    Battle Rewards:

What the actual fuck is going on with the battle rewards? There were some actual good shit in them but due to Ubi having the most dogshit development team I've ever seen seemed to fuck the battle rewards as well. Instead you decide to give everyone the rewards and give up on it with having the faction missions being completely useless. I never managed to get the Hill and Walker figures and Ubi said that they would be released after they fix them. It's almost been 3 months and still nothing about them. I highly doubt they will make another battle rewards season but due to the success of the Terminator rewards I'd say it might have a chance.

    Campaign:

Now I liked the campaign with the whole wolves thing going on and one of my favorite actors leading them, but some of the missions are completely useless and just not fun. Even some of the wolves missions aren't fun either and are just literally bullet sponges with no elite soldier feel to it at all. I mean for God's sake Ubi didn't even design a goddamn face for Yellowleg or a description. Instead it just says "Elite Wolf". Now that's just a fucking great development team if I've ever seen one. Even the mission against Walker isn't even fun. How the fuck did this guy even get drones that make him invulnerable to bullets. Where the fuck can I get some of those. The campaign missions with the three people you have to do missions for are just plain boring. The only one that I genuinely enjoy is the ones with Paula Madera because they are the only ones of the three that seem genuinely polished with pretty good voice acting. Overall the campaign is average but leaves the story off at a bad spot.

    The Raid:

The Raid without even a doubt is way to hard. The fact that you have to play with 4 other players makes the Raid seem impossible to players who prefer to play alone (like me). Not to mention the fact that i didn't know that we were facing goddamn transformers instead of doing tactical millitary operations. The bosses are almost impossible to kill but are indeed do-able. Now the thing with the DMR glitch is that it was helpful because I used it to beat the supercomputer but it really is a cheap move that just takes the "fun" out of the Raid. Although I do respect the fact that they patched it, it should have been a wake up call to make the raid easier and accessable to more types of players. The Raid rewards are genuinely pretty cool, at least until the new update came out and changed some of the cosmetics around. I do not appreciate the fact that they took the mag pouches off of the commissioner vest and ruined the golem field medic vest. Now I don't understand why they didn't give the sleeves to the coats like the rest of the wolves do, or the fact that you can't blouse your boots with the Wolf tactical pants like the wolves do either. Overall the Raid needs an overhaul and the island needs to be accessible for players to explore.

    Customisation And Gunsmith

The truth of the customization in this game is the fact that it's ass. Nearly all the options you have are just bland with exception to the wolves gear. If you are striving to look like you are a true spec-ops, elite millitary soldier then your just going to look bland. Not to mention the Crye Combat Shirt is locked behind a fucking microtransaction. Their isn't really anything unique to me for the cosmetics and even worse is the camo selection. The limited selection that you have to choose from when you start the game is grotesque. When you started Wildlands you had TONS of options to choose from. But Breakpoints options are locked behind Ghost war, Raid, and microtransactions. At this point they just need to overhaul the entire game. Now on to the horrendous gunsmith. The Gunsmith is the definition of dogshit. A GOD DAMN COD GAME HAS A BETTER GUNSMITH THEN THIS GAME! You are so limited to the selection of attachmennts that you have in the Gunsmith which is just plain retarded. Can I seriously not put an ACOG sight on an M4A1. Also the gear score mechanic, I mean really Ubi... That's just bullshit and Im not going to go into detail with this because I'm 99% sure you already know what I was going to say. As I said before this game needs an entire overhaul at this point.

    Open World And Side Missions:

Now in my opinion, I think the open world is beautiful with alot of biomes and pretty landscapes. The wildlife could be better with the fact that they should add predators and make their AI better. Now one thing that bugs me is the fact that on the Xbox One and Xbox One S is that you can't have physics with the snow, sand, and mud. It's just static with no physics or footprints at all. Now if you try to tell me that it's the consoles graphical "limitations" than I will tell you to fuck off and check your facts. If RDR2, which is a game that is way more graphically enhanced then Breakpoint can have beautiful snow, mud, and sand physics on lower end consoles then a game like Breakpoint should definitely have them. It's probably because Ubisoft locked it behind a setting like the E3 presentation with Watch Dogs looking way better than the actual game, only to be learned that Ubi turned it off for some god damn reason. Now the side missions just suck ass and aren't fun or interesting at all. They are just plain stupid and shouldn't even be in there in the first place. Overall we need better side missions and more graphics settings for console.

    Terminator Event And Future Content:

The Terminator event was pretty fun and refreshing, But it isn't what Breakpoint needs. What we need is an entire overhaul of the game and constant bug fixes to ensure the game performes optimally. But this game needs way more content and things to do. Ubi has said that they will finally release the Engineer class and release part 2 but knowing Ubi, that might never happen.

    Conclusion:

Breakpoint at it's core is a good game and it can be fun but due to the incompetence of the developers this game will likely end up at a point of no return. This is a shame because the Ghost Recon series is an amazing series and one of my personal favorites. The real kicker here is the fact that the devs act worse then Hellen Keller and do not listen to the community at all. I've never been so fucking infuriated at a games devs or at a whole company in general. They focus on R6, a game that came out like 4 years ago more than they do a game that they just released less than a year ago. Now I don't know if Ubi Paris runs the whole company or if there is different devolpment teams for different games or whatever but still it's bullshit. Now I know that I may have missed things but this is all biased to MY opinion. Please let me know if you agree or disagree with me. Your opinion would be appreciated and I know that it's a long shot that Ubi will even see this but nevertheless these things needed to be said.
