[Feedback][Breakpoint] Vehicles Should Give You a Temporary Disguise Posted: 04 Nov 2019 02:33 PM PST There's no reason for Sentinel Corp to suspect one of their own vehicles driving or flying by as being "suspicious". It makes no sense. The same thing could even be said for footsteps. Not only is this too sensitive - I'm being heard on different floors of buildings by enemies - but why would it be suspicious to hear footsteps in a neighborhood? Or a compound? Or an office building? These places are filled with people. Back in the day I played a game called Mercenaries. There were multiple factions, & driving one of the faction's vehicles will give you a disguise as that faction. You can drive by the faction's troops & into bases while under this disguise. The disguise can only be broken if you open fire, exit the vehicle, or get spotted by an officer. There are already officer NPCs in Breakpoint, & there are plenty of vehicles that can represent factions. Civilians, Sentinel Corporation, Wolves, Homesteaders, etc. The disguise mechanic could be implemented & the Sentinel Officers/Wolf Officers could be able to break the disguise, whilst all others cannot. I believe the game would benefit greatly from a system like this, especially since disguises & laying low bodes well for survival aspects. There's absolutely no reason why you should get shot at every time you drive somewhere. Sentinel Corp isn't going to "suspect" the sound of their own chopper flying overhead, or one of their own trucks driving by. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Nov 2019 07:43 PM PST Ok so in Wildlands we had the Crye shirt with rolled sleeves, we had actual jeans, we had real ghillies, we had skull/ghost balaclavas and so much more, so why couldn't they keep all that stuff and just add in the Break Point clothing?? It makes no sense and now people have to adk for those things again even tho we had to wait for those things already in Wildlands [link] [comments]
Hot Take: I'm very pleased with Breakpoint Posted: 04 Nov 2019 07:36 AM PST Now that I've played over 50 hours of Breakpoint, I know with certainty this has been a good thing. Now, I'll never have to buy another Ubisoft game ever again for the rest of my life. We've peaked at the late 2000's and early 2010's and it's all down hill from here. It's just as well. I'm backlogged. Link to the Past, Dishonored, Gears 5, Prey, Borderlands 3, and Goose Game (I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting) are all on my backlog. RDR2 (PC), the Outer Worlds, Cyberpunk 2077, Death Stranding are all upcoming and going to find their way onto this list of games I've yet to play. Point is, I'm glad Ubi went for the clean break. They didn't draw it out and string me along. They've shown with no uncertain terms the kind of players they want and the kind of game they want do deliver. Mobile inspired, loot based grind-fests with zero identity or commitment to past installments. Ideally, this model will do well in China. Like, I'm not even going to bother with Skull and Bones, and I've waited years for that title. But at the end of the day, this relationship doesn't work. Ubi wants to be with whales, and I'm just not that kind of gamer. I'd wish them the best of luck, but I'm a vindictive POS. [link] [comments]

Ubisoft: Civilians/Hostages need to have the ability to climb ladders. Posted: 04 Nov 2019 09:46 AM PST Last night I was doing a faction mission and found a back way into the base. Lured the guys over with a diversion lure, dropped a flash-bang down the hole and jumped in. I made it all the way to the hostage silently without raising an alarm and lead him back the way I had infiltrated. Reached the ladder we needed to go up to leave and the civilian couldn't climb the ladder. Needless to say, I had to try and figure out an alternate means of getting the hostage out and ultimately it left a bad taste in my mouth for a few reasons:
It wasn't the fact that I had to find an alternate way to get the hostage out it was the fact that I had to do it because the AAA developer didn't program the AI to climb ladders. I am all for doing things differently for the sake of experimentation, but needing to do it differently because someone didn't feel like/didn't have the time/overlooked programming the AI to be somewhat human really torques me especially in a game where this type of thing should be rewarded.
