    Hello Ghosts,

Today we are glad to announce our two new moderators!

    u/JJ-GAMESTER - Who's on PS4 and u/FFGhost_Wolf who's on Xbox.

We thank all of those who applied, there were great applicants and it took a ton of deliberation to end up with them as the results.

    Cheers, The r/GhostRecon mod team

So why isn't this gun in the game?...

If Ubisoft is really re-working this game I hope they value REALISM over BALANCE in the PvE.

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 12:33 PM PST

It seems to me that a shared progression between PvE and PvP has been detremental to the PvE experience.

Balance in the PvP is all well and good (I don't play PvP so I can't really speak on this topic) but in PvE I want to immerse myself in a realistic simulation.

In a perfect world this would mean:
-Freeing up the gunsmith. All scopes and attachments on all guns that could realistically take them. Also barrel and stock-options.
-No gear score. This is Ghost Recon. This should never have been a thing.
-No bullet-spounge enemies. In my mind a guy in a t-shirt taking four 5.56 or six 9mm rounds to the chest is a bullet spounge in a "realisitc shooter". I would like it if everyone died in 1-2 shots, me included.
-No permadeath. The game is to buggy and glitchy.
-No faction missions. They suck. If there has to be a "pass" just give us points for playing the game, regardless of what we do.

And there are a million other things but I don't have the energy to list them all.

So uh, what happened to all of the weapon variants? There aren’t 31 variants at launch, and there certainly aren’t variants of most of the assault rifles.

Dear Ubisoft Team. Will we ever have this kind of gear in Breakpoint? (More in the comments)

Photo mode can create some amazing stuff at times

How did they mess it up this badly?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 12:49 PM PST

I think it is clear that breakpoint has been a commercial failure and while it can be fun at times it usually is not. Which sucks as I loved wildlands and wanted to love this game to. The problem I see is moving forward I don't think they know why it failed. Ubisoft talks about getting more " unique" games but I don't think that is the problem. The problem is they lost what made wildlands fun. When I am playing a game I want to be going in missions and taking out bases. Not continually finding better loot. That was what I liked about wildlands spend the first few hours getting gear then don't worry about it for the rest of the game. Then they talk about sequel fatigue as a reason for failure. I don't know about you but they could have just taken wildlands moved the setting to the Middle East and had us fight some isis stand in with some Kurdish stand in taking the part of the rebels. Add some new gear that is not in loot boxes (416, better plate carriers) improve gun smith a bit (gas systems, type of ammo etc. etc.) and we could have had a great game. But no we had to have drones (while drone warfare is the future there needs to be a way to shut them down quietly) and a stupid looter shooter mechanic. This ghost recon not the division I don't want to trade up my gun up every 5 min.

Most useless mechanic in the whole game.

Turning off Enemy HUD options completely changes the game

    Posted: 03 Nov 2019 06:55 PM PST

TLDR: Turning off Enemy HUD options in the settings forces you to play like a Ghost. Challenging but rewarding.

The default HUD settings pretty much give you wall hacks once an enemy is spotted which is very easy to do with sensors, drones, auto marking, etc. Imo, This makes the game too simple since you can sit and wait for everyone to funnel to you with your gun aimed and ready.

Turning off these settings in the options means you can only see and know where an enemy is by actually looking at them, therefore changing the entire dynamic of the game. It forces you to play more tactical and utilize many items and class features that otherwise often become irreverent. And it also drastically improves the coop experience too.

If you want a new challenge or trying to keep things fresh try this out. I enjoyed it so much that I made a new character after already completing 75% of the game with default settings.

    1. Interface Settings (Limited HUD)

      a. HUD Markers - Enemies = Never

      b. Maps - Icons Markers Enemies = Never

Enemies will still be marked on the Tac Map but you take the risk of being immobile and blind.

Bonus: Turn off as much of the HUD as you can (except Detection Gauge unless you have a death wish). Guided Mode Off (Exploration Mode) and the highest difficulty you're willing to put up with. No crosshairs is super fun and makes lasers extremely useful and visually amazing.

These settings make stealth almost mandatory as detection often means death, forcing you to play like a Ghost. After discovering these settings and immensely enjoying PvP I can safely say that this game is my GOTY. Yes, even over MW, which is also great.

If you're on PC and want to try this let me know.
