Breakpoint's Vertical Nature vs Wildlands' Diverse Terrain

    Posted: 24 Sep 2021 07:03 AM PDT

This past week I just started playing Wildlands again after a long absence to finish this story. My friend and I never finished the story as we got about halfway through and the game just felt too repetitive. We both lost interest.

So now that I'm back playing Wildlands, I do see why so many folks say the landscape is more diverse than Breakpoint. But then when I think about it, Bolivia is a country and Aurora is an island, so yeah more diversity.

However I noticed that with Wildlands, basically all the facilities are flat where with Breakpoint, there is a lot more vertical built in their large facilities providing more vertical gameplay.

Plus there is also more interior fighting in Breakpoint's large interior facilities giving me more reasons to switch to SMGs and shotguns for those facilities.

I also find myself using boats a a lot more with Breakpoint as well as cars and helicopters. Versus Wildlands where we used helicopters most of the time as the country was too big for the time we had to play and Unidad was too invasive to go by car. Maybe if Unidad didn't have that ever increasing scale and was more a random diverse experience where the outcome of the battle would vary, it would have been a lot more fun.

Maybe Wildlands has more interesting terrain and story format but it still feels so much more repetitive in nature versus Breakpoint.

Breakpoint, I want to go back and explore locations again and replay the story to use those locations, this time with a friend who just bought it.

Anyway a lot may prefer Wildlands diverse terrain but I prefer Breakpoint's diverse vertical facilities with the more diverse vertical gunplay. It can be tough as hell to remain stealthy while trying to figure out where you need to go when you're using no hud, it's pitch dark and raining or foggy.
