Let us customize the secondaries on our AI teammates with restrictions Posted: 21 Mar 2021 11:59 AM PDT Our teammates have secondaries we can't touch because they need them for sync shots, right? Why not just let us select something of our own with restrictions on the weapon class? Like, we can only choose assault rifles to fill the slot. A few attachments can't hurt either. Might as well toss pistol customization on top at that point too. It'd definitely allow for players to have more control over what their teams look like, and that'd only add to the immersion factor of the game. [link] [comments]

Lengthy suggestions for the future of GR Posted: 21 Mar 2021 01:10 PM PDT With the recent posts on this sub, it's becoming more and more evident people are pissed, rightfully so. I'm going to be honest, I haven't had the privilege to play the older Ghost Recon games due to the lack of an older console or a quality PC. However, it's from watching videos, and browsing the subreddit in which I find out that Ghost Recon is becoming less of a tactical shooter with mechanics that set it apart and more and more of just another third-person shooter. Now don't get me wrong, I love Wildlands and Breakpoint, but I truly believe the next game, or even Breakpoint can return to its roots and be able to please both the more hardcore old fashioned player, who started with Ghost Recon 1 to the newer players who enjoy the gameplay of Wildlands and Breakpoint and just want to have some fun with their friends, occasionally running mil-sims, or just fooling around for the fun of it. This is my constructive criticism on the recent Recon games, and how (in my opinion) they can appeal to both audiences. Open world Ghost Recon can be done: Although older Tom Clancy titles have always been mostly linear, open world Ghost Recon can be done, if done properly. Bolivia is a beautiful looking country, with many areas to visit and missions depending on the region, something I enjoy thoroughly. Aurora, although mostly boring, I find some good looking bases, or areas where I think "damn this is pretty neat", namely the volcano region, and the aircraft hangar built into a mountain. While the more recent Ghost Recon games are open-world, this is one of Ubisoft's strong points. The environment is beautiful, from the cities of Wildlands, the deserts and bases, to the snowy mountains and jungles of Breakpoint, An open-world Ghost Recon is not a bad idea, in fact, I think it's a good thing, but in order to do so, you need interesting missions, good map design, and depending on the situation, a lack of, or abundance of life. A tactical shooter with no idea how guns function: Why is it that Ubisoft can't figure out how guns work, in a game where they are a huge focus. What is it with pulling the charging handle every empty reload (or tactical if you're playing Wildlands)? Why can't our character control recoil on a fully automatic M4? Why do our guns SOUND so strange, when they reload it's so unnecessarily loud, or wrong. Why can't we put certain attachments on a rail? Why does the gunsmith in a COD game (MW2019) work better than in a Tom Clancy title? On a series focused on realism, at the very least, you should get the firearms ironed out. And this is something that I think Ubi has slacked off on in both Wildlands and Breakpoint. Vehicles: Something I think this series needs to touch on, it's a great way to traverse to where we need to go, and if we expand the selection of what we use we can get some interesting ways to approach missions. Perhaps vehicles like Chinooks and tanks can be driven and we can request for attack runs and air support similar to how the Rebel mortar works in Wildlands or how the strike designator works in Breakpoint. Having the option to fast rope from helicopters would also be a good idea, and the weapons used on vehicles could vary. Instead of having miniguns and rockets on every vehicle, we could have the option to have guns like the M2 Browning on Jeeps and pickups, M60s on Black Hawks, etc. A way to appeal to the older fans: Some of us want to play Ghost Recon for an intense military experience, all from the comfort of our couch. Some of us want to have a semi-realistic shooter and act operator, some of us want to just have fun and shoot random enemies. And I think Ubisoft can appeal to all these groups. The Ghost Experience parameters in Breakpoint are fantastic. I love being able to change specific details in my game. One or two primaries? How much do I need to heal up after a firefight? How long can I run before being tired? Permadeath on or off? Let's not bother with the Gear Score mechanic and leave that for the Division. Teammate respawns on/off? Having settings like these would let us play the game how we want, tactically, slowly, methodically, where every move could have massive consequences, whether that be the loss of a teammate, having to restart your game or huge upsides like a new gun or progressing the story. Semi-tactically where the only thing we'd have to worry about is limping away from a firefight to heal, or having to restart the mission or re-attack the base, or with no worries at all and just for the fun of it. With settings like these, we can appeal to a broad audience. Better AI: Both AI in Wildlands and Breakpoint seem poorly scripted, with Ubisoft relying on spongier and higher damage enemies instead of smarter ones. A simple overhaul of mechanics in combat can make them work. Division 2 and Division 1: Survival has some decent AI, and the Hunters are a good example, covering each other as they reload, pushing the player but using the surroundings as cover, and trying to corner the player so they are at an advantage. In cases of AI both friendly and enemy out of combat, they should have a schedule they follow, similar to Wildlands and games like MGSV, where they eat, sleep, grab drinks with their pals, and train at gun ranges. The AI should also adapt to our presence in a certain region, for example, the more we are detected during base raids or attacks the more guards will be posted in an area, or if entire areas are liberated without the player being detected, patrol squads will be larger. Customization: Everytime I browse this sub there's always a post or two on "can we add this?" And sometimes it makes sense (WHERE IS MY SKULL BALACLAVA IN BP GAME IS UNPLAYABLE /s). Here is something I propose. Have two options for a certain type of shirt. Similar to how you can choose to blouse or not blouse your boots in Breakpoint, you should have the option to keep your sleeves down for a Crye Combat Shirt, or have them rolled up. The different types of NVGs are clever and I like the system in Breakpoint, allowing us to choose each NVG type to mount on our helmets or choosing a melee class between a karambit variant or a regular knife variant. However, obtaining these items should not be through microtransactions you have to pay too much money with nor near to impossible class challenges. Two examples: A continuation of the storyline in Wildlands, with ur Ghost squad of Nomad, Holt, Weaver and Midas, and Bowman as our handler. We can also choose a few other soldiers to max out our squad with up to 8 members. We're supposed to shut down the El Renacimiento Cartel (or the Rebirth Cartel). We do this in a similar fashion to Wildlands, however we get to choose who we can interrogate and kill with each cartel head offering different outcomes. For example if we kill the Unidad commander, Unidad patrols increase, but if we capture him, Unidad and Santa Blanca will stop being allies. Our teammates should have more dialogue, and character development, and there should be unique lines if a character dies in permadeath. The Rebels have split into two factions, one against us and another for us. We can request for the assistance of the Rebel group that helps us by completing faction missions. Terrorists commit crimes against the US in an unnamed country similar to Somalia, which is captured by the public and media. The US decides to intervene and sends a group of Ghosts there, where we have an MOB perhaps in an embassy. This is where we bring in targets for interrogation, arrest, as well as plan missions and where our intel comes from. We may have forms of backup similar to Somalia rebels or police forces that we can call in by completing faction missions or freeing areas from enemy control by clearing bases for example. Our group of Ghosts can have once again up to 8 people, and our goal is to combat the terrorist force by taking out key targets. Conclusion: With my suggestions, which are all ideas of us fans here in this sub, we can bring Ghost Recon back to its roots while still giving others some space to play the game casually or semi-casually. This is doable, but difficult. Perhaps instead of releasing a title annually Ubi should take time on this one and if they do, their hard work will pay off and it will be recognized as a shining example of Tom Clancy's legacy, and what a good third person and tactical shooter looks like. Do you get the one-life/Ghost Mode in Breakpoint now? Posted: 21 Mar 2021 05:59 PM PDT This is probably a quickly answered question, but it also serves as a question on the status of Breakpoint too since I really only played it a tiny bit on the PS4 and quickly ended up growing bored and ditching it. However I have a PC now, so I'm wondering if Breakpoint will be a decent purchase. While Wildlands for me was still a large snooze-fest it did hold me over when I had no Internet, especially with the Ghost Mode that came out as I'd constantly try it, with the permadeath adding much needed intensity to the rather lack-luster gunplay it had. Plus I found the crossover missions to be frustrating but fun, since they had more of a focus than the base missions like kill generic bad guy 37. However when I got Breakpoint I was mostly snoozing, the Ghost Experience mode just came out which is what sort of lead me to buy the game, admittedly I was able to sink more hours than I thought into it through not being bogged down with the gear stats and stuff better left to The Division, however I still ended up getting bored and leaving it wondering why they didn't bring back Ghost Mode due to things like having to heal, evade enemy patrols, drones and such help create an even more intense almost Survival game-esque experience than Wildlands: so as the title says, is Ghost Mode in the game? If not is there anything that's fully interesting to keep it afloat? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Mar 2021 01:43 AM PDT I've seen a lot of you Ghosts feel betrayed and they abandoned the GR franchises and I know the way you feel. But I still have some hope they add some "Non-relation" additions with Tomb Raider.Like new milsim or GR-oriented things alongside the crossover itself. We can only get what they offer afterall,so just be patient until they add what we want.Stay safe out there Ghosts. [link] [comments]
