Golem Island Update: Solo Exploration & More

    Posted: 05 Nov 2020 09:09 AM PST

Ghosts, we're happy to share the changes you will see coming to Golem Island with TU 3.0.3. Prepare yourselves for two exciting new modes and the ability to explore the island solo. With these new modes also come changes to enemy level, game modifiers, and more. Each raid difficulty will also now have its own sub-section in the objectives board.

    Solo Exploration
Are you feeling adventurous, Ghosts? It's time for you to single-handedly traverse Golem Island and explore brand-new objectives. With 15 different settlements, 50 wild mysteries, and 12 mission milestones, you'll have the chance to take on Golem Island like you've never seen it before through both the regular and immersive experiences.

Gear Level Requirement: Accessible to all players after completing the No Way Out mission and talking to Jericho in Erewhon. As you complete challenges, another challenge will be available immediately.
Enemy Level: Will adapt to that of the player in regular mode.
New Objectives: 12 new milestone missions are available on the island. These include: Killing targets, destroying Behemoths, stealing tech parts, and destroying servers.
Focus on Exploration: Navigation between sectors improved; More cars and boats spawned.
Loot: Consists of regular world loot, select loot from the raid (regular) for missions, and chests.

    Loot - Solo Exploration
Items listed below will be available to players through Golem Island Missions and in Golem Island Chests. All of the below loot is available in the raid (regular).

    Raid Threat: Critical
Up the stakes and challenge yourself by trying your hand at Threat: Critical. A change in enemy level and modified boss patterns are just two of the ways you will be able to increase the difficulty in Regular Mode.

Gear Level Requirement: 150 will remain the minimum gear score.
Enemy Level: Increased from 260 in Normal to 300 in Critical.
Hearts: Player has 4 hearts that replenish over time allowing the player to respawn or revive teammates.
Modified Boss Patterns: More enemies in waves, shorter ability cooldowns.
Exclusive Loot: 4 unique weapons and 5 titles are being added to the loot.

Weekly Game Modifiers - Threat: Critical
Each week, two major modifiers and one minor will be applied from a game pool to Hardcore Mode. Below is the current list of major and minor modifiers that can be applied. These weekly modifiers will appear in the raid's Threat: Critical summary section of the objectives board.

    Major:

    • When a player reloads their weapon, ammo left in the current magazine is lost.
    • The cooldown of each heart is longer, and you have 3 max hearts instead of 4.
    • No ammo drops for your current equipped weapon.
    • When injured, a player progressively loses health and can't regenerate automatically.
    • All players can only equip one main weapon.
    • Life chunks are lost when empty, until a player heals.

    Minor:

    • A player can wound a teammate with their own bullets.
    • Time of day is fixed at midnight for the entire week.
    • Technique gauge recharges slower from all sources.

    Exclusive Loot - Threat: Critical
4 unique weapons and 5 titles are being added to the loot table. As a note, a boss can be looted once in every mode during the same week.

    Unique Weapons:

    • M82 | Cerberus
    • MGL | Quantum
    • MK17 CQC | Gargoyle
    • C-SFP | BAAL

    Titles:

    • Heroic Dragonslayer
    • Heroic Giantslayer
    • Heroic Kingslayer
    • Heroic Mindslayer
    • Heroic Titan

    Raid Threat: Low
If you're looking for a more casual experience, Threat: Low Mode is a more relaxed take on the traditional raid.

A change in enemy level and modified boss patterns are just two of the ways you will be able to decrease the difficulty.

Gear Level Requirement: 150 will remain the minimum gear score.
Enemy Level: Lowered from 260 in Normal to 250 in Low.
Rules: Enemies visible on the map, cooldown to respawn is shorter.
Modified Boss Patterns: Less enemies in waves, longer ability cooldowns for bosses, no second phase in boss fights.
Loot: Consists of regular world loot without unique chests.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint – Ghost Experience Update

    Posted: 05 Nov 2020 09:10 AM PST

On November 9, we will be releasing the Ghost Experience Update. We are very excited to share what the team has been working on, and we want to thank you for your continued feedback and support.

Title Update 3.0.3 will be building on the Ghost Experience foundation, this time focusing on adding more depth to the Enemy AI and opening more possibilities for solo and stealth experience. Finally, you will be able to choose the density of drones in the world!

    https://youtu.be/6OGT4vbdkuE

    New Features

    Stealth

This update brings significant improvements to the stealth playstyle, aiming to ease stealth exploration and cover multiple game systems.

While undetected, players will now be able to deal increased damage to both drones and NPCs. This excludes heavy NPCs as they are equipped with heavy armor.

You'll also see enemies running out of ammo and reloading – this will apply to all enemies with ASRs. This opens additional possibilities for you and your squad to launch counter attacks and adjust your strategy. We have also rebalanced the detection time and radio communication time to allow you to react to enemy tactics. Additionally, we have reduced the enemy mortar strike accuracy when you are detected.

As for drones, many changes have been applied to their detection and destruction behaviour. Changes include, but are not limited to, reduced investigation movement speed, new vertical destruction trajectory, reduced destruction sound, more pauses between attacks, and no more erratic hit animations, among other changes. The full list of changes will be added to the patch notes.

We have also added new settings to the aim assist in order to provide more granularity in your experience.

    Bullet Lure, Grenades, and C4

Continuing with the changes we made to the gameplay mechanics, we have added a new item to your inventory, the bullet lure. This will allow you to lure one enemy at a time without triggering large groups of enemies.

It is important to note that this is not a replacement to the existing Diversion Lure, which works best with bigger groups of enemies as it has a large area of effect. The bullet lure will be accessible from the item wheel, and you'll have an infinite amount of it – no need to manage that.

We've also added a community-requested feature when it comes to grenades: cooking grenades – available in both PvE and PvP. This will work side by side with the other features introduced with this update. This will allow you to be more precise with grenades and will leave no room for the enemy to react, resulting in a more effective execution.

Lastly, and to add more freedom for C4 usage, you will be able to pick up Ghost-placed C4 and mines for reuse.

    Syringes

Based on feedback from players, we have added one last option to the way syringes work in-game: you can now choose whether syringes heal your injuries or not – this setting is off by default while in immersive mode.

    Darkest Night

We are happy to introduce our new setting: Darkest Night. This tactical setting will offer the darkest nights ever seen in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Immerse yourself, adjust your HUD settings, and make sure you have your NVG and thermal vision on standby!

    Cleaning Weapons

Another highly requested community feature is the ability to clean your weapons from mud, dirt, and snow. We understand how important this is for our players and we can confirm that you will be able to do so from the loadout menu.

    Inventory management

    • Mass sell resources: The highly requested sell-all-resources feature is now available at Maria's shop.
    • Weapon dismantling: To reduce the time spent in your inventory, you can now dismantle weapons when near a crate without picking the weapon up – only in Immersive mode.

    Golem Island Solo Exploration

Thanks to all the feedback, discussions, and suggestions we saw from our players around the Raid and Golem Island, we are thrilled to announce that Golem Island is now open for solo exploration! Prepare to explore this iconic location with 15 different settlements, 50 wild mysteries, and 12 missions all available in solo mode. For all the details on the Raid update, check out our dedicated article here.

    World Modifiers

As we promised earlier this year, the rebels and Terminators will be coming back to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint! This time around, you will be able to activate/deactivate these parameters in the world as you please. You will be able to toggle several other settings affecting the world as well, including drones and helicopter patrols.

    Event Parameters

    • Terminator presence toggle
    • Rebel presence toggle

You can only have one active Event Parameter at any given time.

    Enemy Population

Based on all the feedback we received regarding drones, players will be able to determine drone presence and helicopter patrols in the world!

    • Drone presence modifier: minimal* / classic
    • Azrael presence modifier: none / classic
    • Helicopter patrol frequency modifier: none / classic

Minimal presence: you will only encounter drones that are tied to missions and behemoths.

    Other modifiers

    • Interface Item shader: toggles the shader highlighting items and crates off/on.

Players will be able to find these modifiers in the settings menu – the instance will reload after any changes to the world parameters.

    UI – Item Wheel

We took the opportunity to rework some aspects of the item wheel to make it easier to use, including making the wheel larger and allowing for more accessibility and customisation – as requested by our community.

    Item wheel

    • New slots: two new slots added to the item wheel
    • New item: hand-thrown bullet
    • Item categories: no more distinction between defensive/offensive items
    • Added AI teammates order shortcuts to the item wheel (controller only)

    Accessibility

    • Players can choose to press or hold the button to open the item wheel

    Remapping

    • Players can set a shortcut to directly open the order wheel (all platforms except Stadia)
    • Players can set a shortcut to directly open the item wheel (all platforms)
    • Players can set a shortcut for each wheel slot: mouse and keyboard/controller (all platforms)
    • Players can remap the SyncShot teammate input (all platforms)

    Class Progression Update

With seven classes now in-game, the class rank limit has been increased to Lvl20. Rewards from the regular Raid difficulty have been added to the class progression rewards to offer multiple unlock conditions and more accessibility to all players.

    Assault class:

    • Judge gear set
    • A-TACS IX gear camo
    • AK47 Assault

    Sharpshooter class:

    • Commissar gear set
    • A-TACS FG gear camo
    • MK14 Assault

    Panther class:

    • Flayed gear set
    • A-TACS AT-X gear camo
    • Scorpion EVO3 Tactical
    • A-TACS AT-X weapon camo

    • Golem gear set
    • A-TACS AU gear camo

    Pathfinder class:

    • TAVOR Scout

Regarding HDG customization in the next TU.

    Hi Ghosts,

like I mentioned in several comments I made over the months on this game's reddit, I'm a HDG (Handgun) intusiast in GR: Breakpoint. With that being said the lack of GunSmith options in this game are rather disapointing and a downgrade from GR: Wildlands. The Echelon-Class is dedicated to HDGs while the "Pistolero"-Perk and the soon to be implemented new stealth-system emphasizes Splinter Cell - like stealth without primaries.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not whining about the new Update anouncement nor is this a rant. This post was worked on weeks prior any info was released about "What's next for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint by u/UbiBard, I just did not have time to finish it until now.

    Let's begin...

To add to the following changes it would be nice to reduce the recoil on ALL HDGs! Nomad is a trained soldier who is able to run up a mountain with a >20kg Rucksack, a Stoner LMG and several technical items. This steroid-pumped warrior would be able to handle a normal HDG's recoil like the one from the SC IS HDG with out aiming to the moon after three shots.

I recorded two examples for this reason examining the recoil of both the M4A1 (a ASR with more options of customization, than the HDG, therefore the handling is better - which kinda elevates my point) and the SC IS HDG. The first has way better recoil-handling than the latter but realistically speaking this doesn't make sense and makes the HDG useless against any other weapon.

    The M4A1 in a semi-qualitative test...

    ... against ...

...the SC IS HDG in both 3P and 1P.

Meanwhile in GR: Wildlands it looked like that:

GR: Wildlands - pin-point accuracy with the 5.7 Blacklist (as a aquivalent to the SC IS HDG)

With these changes mentioned let's proceed to the actual point of this post:

HDG suggestions for the GunSmith in the next TUs!

First of all to get my personal OCDs outta the way, Ubi pls fix the ATPIAL x3 on the SC IS HDG... maybe it's just me but it's really weird to have the weight on the front of the gun (I'm not an expert though):

    This is the original....

    ...and my edit.

I'm not a GIMP or Photoshop Pro so bare with me on this one.

Now with this little thing being fixed there are numerous things I would like to add to the HDG GunSmith:

    • Extended Mags
    • different sights
    • different grips (not a priority)
    • different triggers
    • more muzzles (not a priority)
    • exchangeable unique elements

    • I created this concept on different guns in the game, i.e.:

The USP Tact. 45 with a added muzzle.

This a different muzzle that appears on the FiveSeveN from Splinter Cell Blacklist or GR: Wildlands. [Concept]: The muzzle functions as both a supressor and a muzzle break which can be triggered with D-Pad Left (PS).

The pic also represents all the additions I thought would be fair for Echelon players. This is not just a fanboy thought but inspired by the promo published by Ubisoft before GR: Breakpoint was released.

PRE_Launch Promotion. Look at the upper right pic!

This is from the Alpha-Version of the game I assume so I shouldn't be to hard to implement it.

    • Further I would like to change the different Lasers of the more unique weapons of the game, like...:

The SC IS HDG + the MK .23 Laserpointer.

    ... or ...

    \"Enhanced\" SC IS HDG.

Now the latter pic features more than that - like an extended magazine for the HDG and a double laserpointer. It looks silly and you would have two lasers and probably be damn confused but that's not the point. Being able to share the unique elements between weapons would be awesome!!

The F40 + MK .23 Silencer and a custom grip.

The extended mag is part of the GunSmith in GR: Wildlands and I have no clue why it was removed in the SEQUEL dispite time-limitation. It would be needed for guns like the M1911 with a eight bullet mag.

M9 in GR: Wildlands with a ATPIAL x3 and the extended mag.

    • Up next: Triggers and Iron Sights!

    Enhanced C-SFP.

The "Enhanced C-SFP" has a laser-sight, a extended mag and a full-auto trigger. While the laser-sight improves the accuracy and loosly the range, the extended mag extends the bullets fireable from this weapon (duh). The trigger though is a game changer because it let's you spray this HDG full-automatically with disadvantages in accuracy and recoil-handling. These elements where in GR: Future Soldier prior to Breakpoint and very useful in that game.

    Aproppos triggers...:

    • different types of triggers and (not a priority) custom grips to improve HDG recoil-handling:

    =*= The Enhanced F40

The "Enhanced F40" has already good accuracy and with the custom Pachmayr grip (if you a fan of Hitman you know what I mean) second to none. The match trigger (also inspired by GR: FS) advances the firerate as much as you can pull the trigger on the controller. Plus it now looks more unique because of the MK .23 silencer attached to it!

With all these elements you can go nuts with your play-style and creation!!

I.e. my custom \"enhanced\" SC IS HDG featuring a laser-sight, an ATPIAL x3 laser and an extended mag.

These were my suggestions. Although some of them sound a little bit crazy they are realistic and not to bad imho.

To end this post I want to say thank you for the recently announced free update coming next Monday!! It means a lot to me because my country announced a new lockdown and I am working on my B.A. in the meantime. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is one of the few things I am allowed to enjoy after a hard day of work. Thank you for working for the love of the fans although there is a pandemic going on which is getting worse and worse. You made a lot of people very happy and...

    ...YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!

Much love to the team at UBiParis ( u/UbiBard, u/UBi_Hayve, u/UbiBlush ) and my fellow Ghosts.

    Feedback for Breakpoint!

    Posted: 05 Nov 2020 06:25 PM PST

I bought this game for $10 back in late June/Early July. I read the reviews and decided for $10 ill take a shot. Man!!!

So far I have around 150-160 hours and around 6,000 kills, apparently from the Ubisoft e-mails I receive. I would have gladly paid the original price.

I even bought it for my little cousin and he told me that thanks to this game he is behind on homework. I had a serious talk with him. But on a serious note this game is very fun and time consuming. I am playing it on the easiest level and with a 6-pack of Goose Island IPA's I sometimes forget it's 4am.

As with many others on this sub, I'm excited for the November 9th update. But I'm curious about the announcement of class rewards being extended to include raid gear.

Does this mean we will finally have weapon blueprints available for us solo players, such as the MK17 Shorty, the A2 shorty, Tavor Assault, STONER Compact, BOSG12 shotgun, or M4 Shorty Shotgun?
