    Ghosts,

You've regrouped with your squad, and it's time for your next Adventure. In Red Patriot Adventure, you'll team up with an old friend to face-off against old enemies. Will you answer Scott Mitchell's call?

    Red Patriot - Teaser

What's Included in the Red Patriot Adventure?

Red Patriot is paid content, and it includes ten new missions and exclusive rewards; however, all players can access two of the mission for free! As with previous Adventure content, players can play all the missions without owning the Adventure or Year 1 pass if you are in a co-op session with someone who owns either one, though you will not earn the rewards.

Red Patriot is automatically accessible for all Year 1 pass owners and available for purchase at the in-game store for 1,900 Ghost Coins.

    Title Update 3.0.0

Alongside our second Adventure of Year 1, our next update will kick off Episode 3 of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Breakpoint with a ton of free content, including a new class to choose from, new items, PvP updates, and further improvements to the Gunsmith.

    Adventure: New Title & Premise

As we shared in the Year 1 roadmap, the second Adventure was previously titled, Transcendence. Red Patriot is not a renaming of the Adventure, rather it is an entirely new premise. We moved in this new direction after a close evaluation of the feedback we received from players since launch and where the creative team wants the story to go.

Red Patriot is a more exciting Adventure for players, and it is a better fit for the story that the team wants to tell.

We will share more details on the story of Red Patriot with the release of the trailer.

    Worried about Bodark..

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 01:09 PM PDT

I hope fighting Bodark isn't the same as fighting the Wolves, which is essentially the same as fighting Sentinel.

I think we can all agree that Ubi dropped the ball when it came to the Wolves. We were promised a highly select lethal group of soldiers trained by Walker himself who would hunt you down and employ brutal tactics in order to kill you and your squad. In reality, we just got re-skinned Sentinel soldiers who run straight at you but do more damage, have farther lines of sight, and can take a couple more bullets (but still die to a single shot in their dumb facemask/helmets).

If Bodark, the Russian equivalent of the Ghosts is just another re-skin of Sentinel, I along with many others will be extremely disappointed.

Is it a lot to ask a small development team to completely revamp enemy AI? Yes. But the AI across the board regarding all enemies should have been better from the start.

Bodark isn't just comprised of Spetsnaz, they are the highest tier of Spetsnaz. Similar to how the Ghosts aren't just SF, they are the chosen elite within the US SF community. Bodark needs to reflect that.

I hope that I'm afraid to fight Bodark in this upcoming DLC. I don't want to just see them wandering around the island in patrols of 3 so I can just shoot them in the head from 100 yards away. They need to feel special in order for us, the player to feel invested in fighting them.

Nothing would improve Breakpoint's core experience more than an overhaul to how enemies operate.

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 10:10 AM PDT

Since the removal of tiered loot, there are 4 main issues that still prevent Breakpoint from being a consistently engaging experience.

    1. Auroa is too empty and spread out, leading to long, boring slogs across the map, or just skipping over most of it via fast travel or helicopter.

    2. Human enemies are dumb, which is okay to a point, but there are some situations where they break outright and stop reacting to what's going on around them. The most egregious examples are during suspicion states where they become selectively deaf, and often stop moving completely.

    3. Enemies in the wilderness can't hear all-out firefights raging more than ~75 meters from them (this is separate from their selective deafness during suspicion). I can't tell you the number of times I've been in an all-out firefight, finished it, and immediately seen another patrol casually strolling by ~100 meters away.

    4. Flying drones home in on bodies automatically, making them overly annoying to deal with.

With a few simple, yet significant changes these problems could be far less intrusive and make Breakpoint's core loop vastly more engaging.

    1. Decrease the number of enemy patrols in the wilderness, but make them significantly larger. So instead of having 2-3 guys every 50-75 meters, you have teams of 6-8 guys every 150-200 meters. The smaller patrols are so trivial to deal with that they might as well not even be there, which leaves most of the wilderness feeling like boring, wasted space. Larger patrols would make Auroa feel more like the dangerous place it's supposed to be. Right now Azraels are the only meaningful threats navigating the world, and they're negated by just stopping for 10 seconds.

    2. Fix the most game-breaking issues with human enemies. Namely, suspicion states should no longer make them deaf to player footsteps or buddies getting domed right behind them, and base-wide yellow suspicion should make them patrol more aggressively instead of causing 90% of them to stop moving completely. And if you really want to get fancy with it you could also make it so that enemies react to hearing a buddy get domed right behind them (which is currently only possible during zero suspicion) as if they're taking fire, instead of acting like they just stumbled across a cold body.

    3. Increase the distance that enemies can spread their combat alert, this way we feel like we're up against an actual force that reacts to our presence even when we're not assaulting a base. Obviously it's possible to overdo it, but the increase should still be pretty significant.

    4. Make it so that flying drones have to come across bodies the same way other enemies do, by patrolling. This would make stealth against them far less frustrating and make them feel more fair to go up against.

Oh, and if fixes 1 and 3 were implemented it might be a good idea to just remove Azraels from the game altogether. They're poorly implemented to begin with and could turn some otherwise major improvements into a new set of annoyances.

    AI Teammates in Erewhon

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 03:07 PM PDT

It'd be nice if the AI Teammates appeared inside Erewhon like Holt, Midas, and the other characters where you could have conversations with them between missions. That along with ambient dialogue would help flesh them out a lot more.
