Ghost Recon Next - Part III (again) So after seeing the reactions to yesterday's "GR could use a Forza-like editor for weapons and vehicles" I believe the images chosen from Forza gave most people the wrong impression of what could be done with an editor like that, so I made this mock-up.

Ghost Recon Next - Part IV Bring back an improved version of Splinter Cell's whistle mechanic. Possibly outdoors using a whistle (and sam's "over here") sound while indoors it could use randomized names of enemies. Imagine clearing a building and using the button to lure and hear "Hawkins..."

Ubi pls gib us ragdoll physics

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 05:26 PM PDT

When we kill enemies, they sort of dramatically fall down like a bad 1970s action movie. Why can't they just flop over like real bodies? I mean, they turn into ragdolls once the horrible animation is over anyway, why not just cut to the chase? I hate sniping running enemies and they stop right in their tracks and it takes them weeks to fall over. Their bodies should just fall over dead, with no cinematics.

The next step for Breakpoint - (Playable?) AI Teammates, daily challenges and a new mode that removes drones.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 09:13 AM PDT

    TLDR version - 1.Gear 2.Weapons customization 3.NVGs 4.Playable AI Teammates 5.Daily challenges 6.Permadeath 7.Enemy AI Improvements 8.Mission Editor (Drone remover)

If you notice many of these features are from Wildlands and are slight improvements from Wildlands. Isn't that what a sequel is supposed to be in the first place?

First off what we've been asking for a while… gear :-

    • Realistic gear that is obtainable through non-raid, non-ghost war methods.
    • Vests reworked. Detailed vests adding more elements. JPC and a few other vests thickened. Various posts and recommendations regarding this can be found throughout r/GhostRecon.
    • Rolled sleeves Crye combat shirt.
    • More realistic camo variants. Not funky bright colours. AOR1 should be available to all.

More customizations for weapons instead of more weapons (there is a post on this subreddit titled "GUNSMITH EVOLVED" which is brilliantly done and should be the system implemented. I recommend you check it out) :-

    • Stocks are now customizable. No buttstock (like the short buttstock in wildlands), folded buttstock, various different buttstocks available to use.
    • Long range scopes on ARs.
    • No restrictions for scopes or for underbarrel and rail attachments.
    • Suppressors on select LMGs.
    • PEQ stats reworked to make it as useful as the MAWL.
    • Canted Sights.

    New NVGs styles :-

    • Steiner, Splinter Cell (the ones they introduced later on in Wildlands).
    • No restrictions on NVGs. Any NVGs can have any style - default, steiner, splinter cell. Choose the filter in customize option.

Ability to focus without having to going to scope in (like Arma). This would help for mid to long distance stuff especially in a 3rd person game.

Lighting to be fixed in some indoor areas where it seems as if outside fog has seeped through the walls.

    Playable AI Teammates :-

    • Customizable through and through. Character, weapons, gear.
    • Keep their suppressor on when commanded to fire (they used to remove their suppressors in Wildlands, like who even does that mid combat?)
    • Speaking of commands, they have an additional command - flank left or right. A chance to be even more tactical in your approach.
    • When commanded to fire they don't go Rambo and facetank enemies. They take a slower approach using cover.
    • Playable AI teammates. A homage to the roots - the 1st Ghost Recon game. Kind of like GTA where you can switch to your teammates on the fly. This will make gunfights and battles more nuanced with various points of attack and different tactics every time you're engaged with the enemy. If this is implemented then flank command doesn't even need to be implemented.

Here is what replaces the battle rewards and how we will obtain new gear :-

    • Daily challenges. Simple as that. Same format as Wildlands. Do so and so in so many days and you get points and crates and so on.
    • Since there aren't as many entertaining missions as Wildlands had, some daily challenges will be to clear Sentinel bases, Wolves bases and the occasional Bohemoth. They should also use Elite Faction Missions for this. A ranking system where no HUD rewards highest, minimal HUD rewards second highest, full HUD rewards lowest.
    • The raid gear pool will now be shifted into this pool of items, along with ALL upcoming new gear and weapons.

Permadeath now an option in Ghost Experience Parameters. With AI teammates this makes perfect sense. No rewards for completing it. It's for your own satisfaction and immersion. This is because people will just undo the setting at the last second before dying. Or else add a reward and mark character saves with a Permadeath indicator. Players choose at character creation whether they want the feature on or off. I wouldn't mind if exoskeleton came back with speed, mobility, bullet and resistance bonuses.

    Enemy AI improvement :-

    • Instead of only waiting for the detection meter to fill up enemies get suspicious at the halfway point and investigate the area. This was already in Wildlands.
    • Enemies don't charge as often. If you camp, they camp. Snipe-off.
    • Enemies attempt to flank your position more often.
    • Enemies use grenades more often to force you out of cover.
    • Enemies detection range increased.

Saved the most ambitious and possibly the most promising for last…

New mode - Mission Editor - You make your own story :-

This is the perfect mode in my opinion to fix the core issue of this game which is the drones and also the bland story missions that keep making you go back and forth between places. With this you can simply remove the drones from your mission area. Although the termination of drones will only be limited to a specific area when you're inside a mission, it will allow for countless replayability.

    • It will be simple, not too complex. This is so even console players can access it and also so it's not too heavy on the game or the devs.
    • We will use the island's architecture, instead of creating our own. Creating our own will be too much of a rework to ask for. Seriously there are a lot of bases and areas in this game which can be used for this mode. This island is vast and full of untouched potential.
    • First you choose your mission area, it will have to be limited to a number of kilometres. Big enough to have checkpoints though. Maybe each mission area will be limited to a specific province?
    • Each time you complete a mission checkpoint you have to go to intel page to tick it off manually where you also might find intel of a conversation you might've just had or a interrogation you have just done. This way the game doesn't have to do too much and it's all preloaded with the mission download file. Basically no mission prompts but there will be interaction prompts. Say there is a NPC you must talk to for intel, you can interact with that specific NPC.
    • Custom Enemies: Number of enemies within the render zone will have to have a limit. Total enemies in mission area will have to have a limit. Can't go too overboard but obviously not too low. Choose what kind of enemies (breacher, sniper etc.) you want placed where.
    • Custom enemies behaviour: In this setting patrol routes will have to be non existent. Implementing that would become too complicated. However with the AI improvements this might not be so much of a problem. Tactical gunfights with enemies. Placing enemies in hidden positions to surprise the player. Imagine having to face an actual ghillied sniper (without markers of course). So even though it may seem less lively with low traffic, you are prone to be ambushed upon at any time. This also allows for raid like movement of clearing every corner inside buildings. This will also reward situational awareness while moving about the world. Once engaged the enemy movement is back on anyway.
    • Default enemies: Basically the default enemy - patrolling the woods, preset positions within the base, patrolling within the base etc. Within this however there will also be a setting to deactivate drones.
    • Road Patrols will be on a default setting. Enemies will be patrolling the roads as usual.
    • Vehicles will also be on a default setting.
    • Different types of NPCs that can be placed in the mission area who might provide you with intel. Skell doctors (white coat), Skell labour workers (construction clothing), Skell office workers (Black suits). Again this can be also be set on a default setting.
    • Mission creators can place decoy (MGS5 concept) enemies to trick you. If you shoot them the enemies get alerted.
    • Mission types - Extract HVT, assassinate target, destroy stockpile, obtain intel, interrogate target, clear enemy base, rescue hostage and more. You can be as creative as you like.
    • Rules of Engagement - No kills, leave no trace, time limit, no firing unless fired upon.
    • Can be downloaded and loaded up at any time from a list of uploaded missions by users all over the world. Likes and dislikes system, number of times downloaded displayed. A brief summary about the mission and information like whether the mission has drones or not will be available.
    • Your downloaded missions will be in a list that you can play any time without having to download it again.
    • Can be done solo, with AI teammates or your fellow ghosts.
    • You deploy to a chosen bivouac within the mission area. Rope down from a heli. To complete a mission you must successfully rendezvous back to a bivouac and complete extraction.
    • Missions can't be ridiculously big in download size.

Now I know this seems like a lot but say Ubisoft Paris assign 3 teams to this

Team A - improvements & fixes - Enemy AI, lighting Issues, current bugs

Team B - appearances - gear, weapons, NVGs

Team C - upcoming content - Revamped playable AI teammates, permadeath, daily challenges, mission editor.

For people thinking it is too much, remember that we got Ghost Mode and Tier Mode late in Wildlands and it completely resurrected the game.

Priority should be to bring in AI teammates, permadeath, and daily challenges first. Mission editor will obviously take some time and can come in later. Mission editor feels a little too ambitious but definitely can be pulled off and mainly solves the biggest issues most players have - the drones and the generic story. And remember, infinite content!

Ubisoft Paris say they have hundreds of employees. 700 if IIRC. Ghost Recon is one of their biggest titles. Why is this not doable?
