My expectations were so low they didn't even disappoint.

When you see Ubisoft employees actually communicate and talk about their game.

@Ubisoft can we get tactical coop actions such as this for Breakpoint? Immersive? Hell yes!

The biggest AI improvement Breakpoint needs is for enemies to get suspicious from catching a glimpse of you.

    Posted: 06 Mar 2020 09:07 AM PST

I'm pretty excited for the immersive mode, but I think we can all agree it will take a bit more than the changes they've laid out to get the core gameplay to a consistently fun and exciting state.

One of the biggest issues at the moment is that enemies are completely blind to you until the detection meter fills 100%. Even on Extreme difficulty with Wolves standing 10 feet in front of you, filling it 95% and getting back into cover elicits no real AI response. There's an animation of them turning their head towards you, but that just makes their failure to actually do something about it all the more jarring.

Enemies responding to glimpses of you by conducting brief searches with their nearby allies is one of the most fundamental AI behaviors to include in a stealth game... and it was already in Wildlands. It makes gameplay far more realistic, tense and dynamic. Reckless mistakes more often require quick reactions to fix, and it also gives players another way to lure enemies.

In terms of implementation it should be as simple as making enemies react to the detection meter filling, say, 20-25% the same way they react to hearing something. Maybe just increase the distance they're willing to cover since they can see you from a lot further than they can hear you. And if Ubi really wants to get fancy with it they could make enemy snipers radio the unit closest to their possible sighting.

Oh, and the notification above the mini-map could read "Possible Sighting" or "Possible Visual."

What guns would you like to see added into the game at sime point? (Breakpoint)

    Posted: 06 Mar 2020 03:43 PM PST

Lemme start with some sort of pump shotgun that's not the KSG. Like, the KSG is nice and all, but its not the same as something like the Remmington 870 or a Mossberg 500. I want a chonky pump shotgun. Anither gun I'd like to see is something chambered in .50 Beowulf. A big ass AR round like that would fit in here in a setting where you fight drones. Something that can punch through drone armor. And just as a visual preference, I think I'd like to see an AR in the style of the SAI GRY rifle. It has a weirdly unique muzzle break

I also wouldnt mind seeing the classic M40A5 make a return. Its a military classic. Or the return of the Mark 249. Because running around with an airsoft gun is freaking hilarious to me.

We need this to do missions with submarines (inside or outside them) and to really dive like in Assassins Creed origins

This is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened... it's maddening! Was able to get out of it this time.

    Mission editor

    Posted: 06 Mar 2020 06:26 AM PST

    Mission editor

What do you think of a mission editor where we can only place enemy forces, drones, vehicles, fixed weapons, etc ...

Using the current scenarios "without being able to modify".

Attitude modifiers: aggressiveness, patrol, passivity, cowardice, desertion, etc ...

Position modifier: Patrolling, sleeping, eating, watching, etc ...

Power Modifications; weapon, use of grenades other utensils, etc ...

    Start time

    Any ideas?

Rant about unlockables behind Ghost War and creating a new character. (Breakpoint)

    Posted: 06 Mar 2020 06:42 PM PST

I recently created a new character to play from the beginning on Extreme with no/minimal HUD, and it's been great. However, there's one thing that's bugging me: the fact that unlockables from Ghost War don't transfer save slots.

I played an insane amount of Ghost War to unlock all of the available character customization items (camos, eyewear, etc.). I personally hate playing PVP modes and games, so I painfully trudged through it to unlock everything. Now that I've created a new character, however, none of the items I've unlocked during my tenure with Ghost War transfer to my new save slot character.

I understand having to do the Raid again as the new character (which I'm also not a fan of), but the fact that I have to spend another 50+ hours again in Ghost War to unlock all that stuff really grinds my gears.

Rant over, thanks for reading. Great game though.

    Invisible drones must be fixed.

Will you be starting a new character with the Immersive Mode?

    Posted: 06 Mar 2020 05:21 AM PST

I'm not sure about this one. I want to as I'd like to experience the game in the fashion of how I think it was meant to be played in the first place. However, not carrying over Battle Rewards (unless something has changed I don't know about) is really putting me off as I spent so much time earning them - and they're mostly cosmetic so they make no difference to the balance of the game.

Why are the lights invincible ?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2020 09:10 PM PST

How the hell is it that you cannot shoot out like any of the lights ?! There are some yes, but if this really was the TACTICAL shooter they've so proudly been marketing, you would be able to shoot out the goddamn lights at least no? Am I being unreasonable ? You cant even infiltrate in darkness because like 90% of the lights are impervious to bullets. Even if they are LED or something else. Be my guest irl, shoot a goddamned LED light and tell ubisoft paris what happens. Please for the love of christ. Clancy is rolling over in his grave... Im sorry for the rant but another user wrote it very well in a different thread ; Now with the new announcement everyone is suddenly happy getting things that SHOULD HAVE been there from the start. Ubi Paris are content to take 2-3 steps backwards as long as they take a mini step forward. There have been some things in the Update Notes I'm very happy to hear but it doesnt change the fact that they should have implemented these things from the get go. I really like Ghost Recon but I'm disappointed with where the series is turning. "Tactical shooter" with bullet sponge robots and indestructible lights. Right...
