It's really odd that we get scuba pants and goggles but can't actually swim underwater.

[BP] What if Ubisoft implanted some sort of mission playlist?

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 05:39 PM PST

Title is the the main question, I was thinking of some sort of mission playlist sort of like Destiny. It would give players something to do after completing daily faction missions or other missions.

One thing that 100% needs to happen if this were ever implemented is unique missions for the playlist that otherwise cannot be accessed other than through the playlist. Recycling story missions or other missions would be too easy, as you can rush through to the boss and kill him/her.

Also mission exclusive armor and maybe some weapons? Higher gear drop levels (maybe 270?) would be a must. This will give players something to grind for as well as the mission specific loot.

If you think something should be added please comment, as this is a open discussion for just browsing ideas to brings some life back to the game.

"Match Found" on the bottom of my screen won't go away, no matter where I go. This happened after searching for a PvP match.

Friend and I are looking for our first Ghost Recon Co-Op experience. Would you guys recommend Wildlands over Breakpoint?

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 05:31 PM PST

    Basically title.

We haven't played a Ghost Recon game since way back in the Advanced Warfighter 1 days. Just looking for your suggestions. Thanks!

    Finding players

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 01:03 PM PST

Just posted to LFG but was wondering if anyone knows of some other places to look for players? Maybe another forum or discord. Somewhere that has a little more traffic. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Btw here is my post if anyone on here is interested!

The biggest world design issue with Breakpoint and how to maybe fix it for the next game

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 01:49 AM PST

TLDR: I don't think the devs have to add bullet sponge drones to make the game challenging, if they make the world more dangerous, gameplay more challenging and take away the most over the top support for player characters (like the ability to buy helicopters behind enemy lines and fast travel).

    ———

I've recently played a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2 & RD Online because it gives me a lot of what I liked about Ghost Recon Wildlands: A great, alive world, stealth killings, difficulty, beautiful nature and the feeling that the map isn't there for you but you're always an underdog who needs to think about his actions. It's no substitute to Ghost Recon, of course, but has made me think about GR's gameplay loop.

What I especially enjoy is the slower pace of gameplay. Gunfights are fast and brutal, but if you want to go somewhere, you need to think about the distance, weather, your gear, food, where are the closest settlements, and so on. This also means you usually stay in an area for a longer time, and really look carefully what is has hidden in its camps, caves and towns. It's not just about clearing a base and flying away, because it took time to get there. This makes the map feel much larger than it actually is. In Breakpoint many regions are beautiful but lack reasons to really stay there.

Take too light clothing and you'll freeze. Dip yourself in a cold stream and your clothes are wet and you'll freeze. No food? Your health and stamina aren't going to be good. See a house in the wilderness? You definitely should check it out because they might have important loot: Not a golden tier weapon or something immersion breaking like that, but canned salmon, cigarettes, whiskey and rifle ammo. But be ready to be attacked by a guard dog or killed by the guy who lives there. Swamps have snakes and alligators, northern forests have bears.

You also can't fast travel except from certain places like railway stations, and traveling takes time. Fast traveling is, well, fast, but costs money that's always difficult to find (unlike in Breakpoint). Why does this matter? Well, you can't always teleport away from trouble, but have to think how to avoid issues on the way. Wildlands had this to some extent as SAM sites made flying in certain regions too dangerous. I think that could be turned up a notch actually, and players could be required to steal the choppers every time and not just buy them. Where do they even come from? That breaks the immersion again, unlike a stolen vehicle. And what if a chopper crash made you lost at least some items? My point is that there shouldn't be easy options: just low risk and time consuming or high risk / high reward ones. Make the player work for the simple goals too, make losses feel bad and force the player to think in advance. That's good game design.

I understand Ghost Recon is a different series of games, set in very near future, where things have developed since 1899. Still I feel like a slower pace, more risks, less backup like purchasable helicopters, building up to missions like by stealing cilivian vehicles, clothing that's not just cosmetic, and gear that needs to be prioritised (like by weight limit) would do Ghost Recon franchise good.

Will mud/snow displacement be added to console?

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 05:25 AM PST

I got back into Breakpoint yesterday and realised that the footprints/prints in general in mud and snow aren't in the game, even though they're in the PC game. Will it ever be implemented? Or can console just not handle it?
