    Prelude: A year after the Government Collapse of 2021 Afghanistan is now once again under "hard line Extremist" Rule.

    GHOST RECON: BADLANDS

    April 2nd 2021, Jalalabad District
    As Tensions rise in the Area a CIA led handpicked team of Elite ODA-Delta and DevGru operators Codenamed Task Force Emerald (TFE) are sent on a highly classified Mission called Operation Gemstone to extract the CIA's Most Prized Undercover Operative embedded deep within the upper echelons of the enemy Regime after intercepted Intel suggests their Assets location and identity has been Leaked.

    As Karen Bowman watches on from her Secure Command post, TFE is rocked when it is hit by a Complex well planned and Executed Ambush whilst Approaching the Assets last know location.

    As the team enters the Assets apartment complex a massive explosion demolishes the building followed by multiple enemy fighters who then converge on all sides overwhelming and massacring the remaining members of Task Force Emerald

    Bowman and her Ops team can only look on in Abject Horror as the remaining team members not caught in the initial blast are eventually overrun and methodically executed

    Meanwhile...
    Somewhere over the Mediterranean Ghost Team Echo's Leader (insert Name & Rank) Call sign Pilgrim and his team are En-Route to Jordan for a routine training mission when Lt Col. Mitchell informs them that their orders have changed and they are now being Re-routed to Afghanistan

    The Team's Mission:
    Gather Intel on how the mission was compromised, Find the missing CIA Asset, Identify and eliminate everyone involved in the Ambush and Gain Justice for the fallen Tier 1 operators

    But Afghanistan is now once again a Non permissive Environment with heavy Anti US rhetoric rising the National Police and Military are completely corrupt and the CIA seemingly having their own Agenda Who can Ghost Team Echo really trust?

    What started off as a Simple extraction Mission soon unravels to reveal a much more darker and sinister truth that not only was TFE intentionally baited and lured to their death but that the CIA's most prized asset may have been turned!

    The First Mission, In-game will see you playing as a member of Task Force Emerald during the ill-fated events of operation Gemstone

    As always let me know what you think, does this sound more like the kind of missions and storyline you would expect from a GR game

    Creating a fan mission: Delivery ideas, feedback wanted (no mission details are in this thread)

    So, I'm working on a fan mission for GRBP. This is focusing on stealth/sniper gameplay, and is inspired at least partially by one of my favorite books (Scouts Out series). It's goal is general immersion, being relatively easy for the first one just because I want to make it approachable and have folks understand the general idea for gameplay style going into the next.

    Anyway, I've got the missions themselves plotted out; this is going to be a "part 1" sort of thing, just to see if there is enough interest to justify additional work.

    With that, I'm now in the phase of planning delivery.

    First off, there will be an intro video (Think SGW Contracts in how they preface the regions with a video on what you'll be doing). This video lays the groundwork for the missions, requirements (recommended self-imposed rules), etc. Possibly an extro video as well.

    Beyond that, I want the mission briefing to be more immersive than stop and look it up on Reddit or something like that.

    I'm a web developer by trade, and was thinking of making a web-app for mission delivery and guidance. You'll be able to use your desktop to view it, of course, but for "immersion" I want people to use their phones/tablets.

    This first mission has a few "contingencies", that will require you communicate certain outcomes in order to determine next steps (basically by clicking a "this happened" or "this other thing happened". If it works out well, I'll plan on future missions having more of the same.

    As well, I plan for the briefings to be purely text-based, but if there is enough interest, I'll do audio.. Maybe, MAYBE even video (I do mostly audio work, but also video occasionally).

    So, basically, I want to know your thoughts on the general concept. It's challenging to create a mission without any access to mod tools and the like, so I'm trying to compensate for the lack of immersion by building it up a bit in the storytelling and delivery portion.
