Weaver early character design. The character looks awesome with this kind of customisation.

Something that needs to be addressed in the future is the vehicle situation. Handling, physics, stealth/detection all need a serious overhaul. (Warning: Great Text Wall of China)

I'm still a bit bewildered to this day about it. They took so many things from Wildlands, including some legacy bugs that never got fixed, yet they had workable systems in place for vehicles and completely threw it all out.

I should preface this saying that, while I haven't taken a purely objective, numbers-based approach to evaluating the differences between the two games, I speak from my personal tastes when it comes to vehicles.

The way vehicles handle, their interactions with the environment, the weather, different terrain and so on, is pretty off-putting. You have near-futuristic EVs that have terrible acceleration and almost no torque, so they feel like they get going a lot slower than even some bigger ICE powertrain vehicles. I wouldn't care about the distinction in vehicle handling if they all didn't handle so poorly. It feels like nothing has ABS. All these futuristic vehicles, and not one of them has standard ABS. Quite a few of the vehicles also have massive understeer and oversteer. The bikes being the worst offenders, considering the class they're in. Combined with the terrible brakes, it's an absolute chore to drive anything. Again, in some instances, those EVs that should be the pinnacle of automotive engineering get measurably trounced by larger, more outdated vehicles. I rarely even touch anything other than what Sentinel serves up in a vehicle patrol. Most of the time when I inevitably crash, I notice that the vehicles won't stop accelerating even after coming to a complete halt. Minor gripe, but it just makes them feel unresponsive. The bikes' backends kicking out is almost unmanageable. How they could design a bike to handle as clumsily as they do, I will never know. Overall, the vehicles are so dissatisfying to drive that it bugs me every time I boot up the game. As they are a big part of traversing the game's large open world, it's kind of odd how not fun they turned out to be.

There is then the issue of being detected while driving. At any speed, with even the most dead-silent of vehicles, they always, and I mean always know something is up with just that one driver. Even in cases where they can't see the car responsible for muted hums beyond an opaque cement wall, they just know you're there. They know you're not someone who is supposed to be driving this time of day, on this side of the island, in this particular vehicle, out of sight. I was hoping they would fix the stealth/detection of vehicles you commandeer, but they recently added voice lines indicating that the foot patrols are absolutely aware this road rule-abiding individual is not Sentinel. Doesn't matter if they have absolutely no way to verify whether or not the person driving is an enemy or not. You could be sitting in a view-blocked APC, or just have a side of the vehicle facing them that obscures their line of sight on you, it doesn't matter. They just have that intuition that you are a baddie. This becomes a headache in its own unique way, in which you have to do one of a few things to avoid detection. Either you have to drive just outside of their cone of influence (annoying, considering the frequency of foot and vehicle patrols), speed past before they can get a look (which doesn't reliably work, since they can detect you very quickly at some points), or stop, get out and kill them before they can detect and start shooting at you. Sometimes the endless enemy patrols chain together to never let up with the shooting at you.

It's exhausting, this whole driving around thing. The vehicles aren't fun to drive, and then they aren't fun to try and sneak in. Two chores mashed up into one somewhat necessary activity to traverse this pretty large lot of land. If you made it this far and have any sort of influence on the future of this game, please. I beg of you. Reconsider the role land vehicles have in this game.

P.S. Every hollywood car chase mission in this game is bad. I could go into detail, but all you need to know is that I would rather they just not exist in the first place.

Why can you check bodies in Breakpoint?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 07:53 PM PST

I've been playing breakpoint for a while, and I've completed the entire campaign. I wanted to go back though and max out all the classes(for those sick skins obviously), and I came across a helicopter crash in Golem Island's No Mans Land. I was running by when I saw a prompt to check the bodies of the crash, and I had no idea why. Can anyone explain?

If I die in Ghost Mode (Wildlands) do I lose my unlocked weapons from crates?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 05:21 PM PST

I killed El Yuri and Polito and got the first 400 presitge points, and got a legendary Spas 12 from a crate... then it occured to me that if I die in Ghost Mode, do I lose the gun forever until I can find it again in a crate?

Should I be spending my points out of Ghost Mode?
