I think these pictures would be better if we could habe out NVGs down and enter photo mode while aiming. (I had to stop aiming and enter photo mode really fast to get these)

This is what Breakpoint doesn't have

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:47 PM PDT

I know I'm no expert on game design, these are just my thoughts.

I know I'm no expert on game design, these are just my thoughts.

I believe Ghost Recon would be better off stepping back from an open-world style of gameplay. Not to the point of linearity but more of a semi open-world design. I would imagine areas in size similar to the sections of land in wildlands serving each as their own mission. Essentially take the map of wildlands, break it up, and spread them out across the world in a way that makes sense for the story. This would add story structure without removing the ability of the player to approach the situation as they see fit. Each mission will have objectives set up similar to how they would be in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

    https://preview.redd.it/be3ctnb1ltg51.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=a1ef6597081e5b544c8343d0252d357f88716686

You'd have your main objective, side objectives, and optionals spread throughout the map. In keeping with the theme of player choice, optionals wouldn't exactly be necessary but would offer up bonuses to help you in the next mission such as information on exact objective locations or weaknesses in the enemy force's defense.

I think this approach would solve a lot of the problems in the recent Ghost Recon titles such as oversized, underutilized maps, the necessity for fast travel to avoid 20min "push forward" moments while in helicopters(exaggeration I know), as well as the feeling of being overwhelmed by the number of directions to go at once. It's the difference between a team on a mission and a chicken with its head cut off which is the feeling I get from the last two Ghost Recon titles personally. Ideally, because you're limited to this more localized area, you'd also have more going on within each map, patrols, checkpoints, etc. Another benefit would be the variety in both your environment and enemies. From hired PMCs to insurgents, variety not only in enemy design but capability in combat would do a lot to make each mission unique and interesting.

The semi open-world nature would also allow you to better prepare for each mission environment after briefing in terms of weapons and gear. While true this is possible via bivouacs in Breakpoint, the ability to pull an M82 from between your cheeks at a campfire because you decided you need a sniper rifle is not what I would call realistic. A strong focus should be placed on gear variety and customization for loadouts as well as consequences for those loadouts. Nothing too crazy but IMO if you don't bring nods you shouldn't have night vision, kinda weird that you can do that in Breakpoint and Wildlands.

    (long term play)

To keep players engaged I would love to see some sort of create a mission system using the existing mission environments as blank slates as well as new locations unique to that mode. Maybe a creator of the month sort of promotion on the main menu screen or top voted maps.

Item access (grenades, mines ,binoculars) is awful

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 05:03 PM PDT

In wildlands for binoculars you have to press down ⬇ and for items like grenades and flashbang you have to press right ➡. Now in breakpoint first of all you have to set what kinds of items you have access to on the round menu then, after pressing R1 + RB you have to press L1 for using that item. Imho this mechanics makes the game less fluid and more typed. In addition such items must be bought and they are not refilled in your base.

Why did they change items access even though in wildlands it was easy and quick?

The Golem Island Raid is terrible.

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 09:55 AM PDT

So I finally got some of my friends to get the game and they worked hard to meet the requirements for the raid. I've been wanting to get the loot from the raid since it came out and was very exited. Even though we only had three of us I decided it would be fine to just get a random. All looked well, we got a random guy who was gear score 262 and seemed very good. We were in high hopes of doing this. Then everything went wrong, we died a couple times, had no idea what was going on, one of my friends went totally AFK and our random left leaving us stranded. I understand the raid is a challenge and I've been playing since launch and have gotten pretty good, but I wasn't prepared to be so pissed off. They're aren't really any clear directions at first and we were lost for at least an hour until finally finding out what we had to do. Now everyone has gotten so frustrated no one wants to play again and our fourth man hasn't been able to play. It has been a nightmare even getting a team and now because the weekly reset we are going to loose all progress. Not to mention we got jack crap loot. This was kind of a rant post but I've never been so mad and frustrated about a game before so I felt like it.

Edit: Thanks for the comments I've enjoyed them! There was a very toxic guy commenting but he has been felt with and banned so the post can go on peacefully.

Just tried the trial, first thing I noticed, why do the guns feel so bad?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 11:05 AM PDT

It feels kind of like a downgrade from Wildlands, is it just me? Theres no 'feeling' to them, they feel like plastic

man I'm glad ubi is patching these stuff , the game is slowly becoming a better version (how it should have released)

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 07:45 AM PDT

I just hope the devs are given enough time for the next title..

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 12:10 PM PDT

You play wildlands and then play breakpoint and breakpoint has slightly better graphics, but other than that they just copy/pasted every single asset from wildlands, but left out most of what made it good. Wildlands u can tell was a full game, the skill trees were more robust and meaningful, the campaign was 10 fold longer, tier 1 kept you grinding, ghost mode, Ai/npcs dialogue was much more frequent. breakpoint u can tell they only had time to build the world and copy/paste assets because they didn't have time to design missions, didn't have time to record dialogue, script more AI, you can tell this came out when it did because they were forced to. I still love breakpoint and prefer and play the pvp in it but pve I always go to wildlands. If their studios are given enough time before the next deadline I still have very high hopes for the next GR title because if they can build off of what wildlands was rather than have to release a partial unfinished version of wildlands, we'd have another masterpiece on our hands.

    My Breaking Point

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 08:02 PM PDT

Who is actually making those drone totems?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 07:48 PM PDT

It's not the Outcasts because some totems have writings that say, "We're summoning the devil!" This doesn't fit the agenda for them, since they just want peace.

And it's not Sentinel because every guard has to talk about how the totems give them the creeps. Some Sentinel are even annoyed or believe it'll bring bad luck to talk about it.

So is it the Wolves? It would make the most sense

New ideas for the next update

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:29 AM PDT

Customizable Warbelts A third options for aiming. By now we have third and first perspectives, would be cool if you could add a third one where the weapons is slightly down and the character is looking above ads and instead higher walking speed. Making it better for cbq. If you would make it detailed you could make it high port too for example if a team member is nearby.

    New songs on the radio?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:38 PM PDT

Just got back into Wildlands after a year and a half. And I just heard a song while driving I didn't recognize. Did they add new songs to the playlist? I sure hope so because that would be cool.
