Still waiting for gasmask/helmet and ghillie hoods to return to breakpoint ubi. Playing wildlands again just makes me wish BP was Wildlands 2.

    Posted: 08 May 2020 10:02 AM PDT

My biggest question for Breakpoint, and really Wildlands too, has always been "Why?"

    Posted: 08 May 2020 06:00 PM PDT

And really, for all of Ubisoft's portfolio excepting a couple of titles.

Why would you try to be your own competitor? Why would you purposely over-saturate the market with bland, same-y products instead of using your diverse offerings to dominate the wider market?

In your Tom Clancy library alone Ubisoft, you had the possibility of dominating Competitive/Tactical FPS, Third-Person Shooter, Looter/MMMO-Lite RPG and Stealth-Action. Then you had AC and Watchdogs for Action/Adventure/Stealth and Far Cry for Open-World Shooter shenanigans.

You had the perfect stable to basically launch a full-frontal blitz on the gaming market and almost completely shut out competitors either through quality or presence (especially since they had been stumbling for a long time).

You managed with Siege and The Division at least. But then you tried to turn basically all your other franchises into some awful Far-Cry-AC-The Division hybrid abomination.

How, even at the corporate level, did you look at Ghost Recon of all franchises you own, and decide that turning the tactical, realistic military shooter into an RPG-lite (or straight up The Division for Breakpoint) was a good idea?

Its especially baffling given that until Modern Warfare came out, the gaming community was literally begging and pleading and willing to do completely inappropriate acts for a realistic-setting, boots-on-the-ground military shooter. Something Ghost Recon was literally created to fulfill and be.

Making a traditional Ghost Recon after Wildlands with better graphics and traditional multiplayer, even in the vein of Rainbow Six Siege would've been the fucking easiest layup in gaming history. Modern Warfare would've looked like the cheap ripoff bandwagon-er when it came out.

But you decided on The Division Goes Camping.

    The mind boggles.

    The survey and peoples wants

    Posted: 08 May 2020 03:01 PM PDT

I did the survey today and answered as honestly as possible just because I really want to see this game improve.

This caused me to think that people want different things from this game.

    Here are some examples:

The looter shooter guys - want this game to be another division with end-game bosses/raids with a big draw to build a character.

The tactical shooter guys - want this game to be like the original ghost recons where you plan out your attack while instructing a squad with it being AI or co-op

The survival shooter guys - want this game to turn you into a wilderness John wick with a with the focus being on you Vs the world as you try and stay alive.

These are just some examples and there sure are more. The main problem is that when the game came out it tried to please a wide audience by adding alot of features that have become a staple of modern day gaming.

Personally I would really like a tactical game where you and a AI squad scope out a bass and methodical plan out a attack which the enemies could possibly react to depending on what you do, similar to how thugs become scared in the Arkham games If they cannot find you and continue to drop in numbers.

This may not be possible in breakpoint due to limitations but I just think that Unisofts IP's should be kept separate and do different jobs.

Hello, Just finished making this Wild Guys video on Wildlands. Just friend having fun. Check it out!

    Is Breakpoint really that bad?

    Posted: 08 May 2020 03:36 PM PDT

So, I unexpectedly loved Wildlands. I'm not into online gaming and I don't collect guns or play games on extreme settings, but I love stealth games and Wildlands scratches an itch for me - loads of military encampments to sneak through. It was flawed in some ways, but it did the job in others, and reminded me of the fun parts of MGS V at times.

Anyway so I know Breakpoint is supposed to be a mess, but I also hear that some of the stealth stuff (alert states etc) is handled slightly better?

I guess I just wanna know... if I just want more of Wildlands as a single player experience, will I be disappointed?

Ps. If anyone from Ubisoft reads this, please make a new Splinter Cell, or at least remaster Chaos Theory.

Does ubi slip in stuff outside of official updates?

    Posted: 08 May 2020 05:28 PM PDT

Because I'm pretty sure the camera work and animation for nomad sitting in the bivouac just changed. He makes different facial expressions etc.

Can you wildlands without ps plus?

    Posted: 08 May 2020 07:41 PM PDT

I've herd you can use bots on your team but I don't know if that means you can play without ps plus or if it's worth it to play with bots

Also I've herd that there is nudity in the game can you skip it or do you have to watch it?

Well I just bought the game so hopefully it will work but thanks to everyone who answered my questions

Lower floor and destroy the Rubik)

Extraction: Liberty Airport with the Plane and fun

What are the fun rules you apply to yourself while playing?

    Posted: 08 May 2020 01:22 PM PDT

Here's one I started doing last night: I like how in red dead you are limited to just one set of additional cloths that you can carry. So I have been using the visual presets...I deleted them so I only have two. One that I'm wearing and one change of cloths. And I only allow myself to change what's in the slots at a bivouac.

So when I'm at a bivouc I like to take note of what region I'm headed to and make sure my two outfits fit the climate and camo style of both the destination and any other climates I'll be traveling through. Then when I'm in the field I don't allow myself to change any clothing items that aren't in the set.

It's a cool vibe and simulates only having one change of cloths in my backpack.

    —-

Another thing I have been doing is limiting myself ONLY to items I've put in my weapon wheel. It feels more real then pressing pause and having this huge library of equipment (including a bazooka lol) in my pack. Lol.

When I'm at the bivouac I think about what gear I will need for the mission and once I leave the bivouac I can't change it! So for example If it's a green mission where I'm going to destroy a truck I pack c4 or the bazooka in my item wheel.

Feels more like I'm gearing up for missions :)

    —-

Another thing related to the above: I find syringes over powered so I don't use them at all. They stay in my pack (which I never open see above) the only health item I carry is one med pack. It's shown as a little medical kit box so I feel like it's more real to just carry the one kit. It also leads to a lot of awesome encounters where I'm severely injured and barely make it out alive...this is when some of the best moments in the game take place imo

What are some other rules you've invented for yourself?

Everybody acting like AI Teammates are going to fix the game

    Posted: 08 May 2020 09:13 AM PDT

Cause when they actually do come, AI teammates are going to be just as broken as the one's in Wildlands with maybe a few minor changes.

Honestly I'm not at all excited for AI teammates, they're going to suck ass especially since they're not a feature Ubisoft was planning on making.

And all the features Ubisoft ACTUALLY PLANNED on making during the game's development are still buggy/half-assed. Examples are the gunsmith, cutscenes, npc interactions, literally ALL THE ENEMY AI, and so much more other shit

And some of y'all expect a full on game rework? The fuck? This is Ubisoft Paris we're talking about, they've lost most of their initial development team for other Ubisoft games, and plus they're all working from home for months now. No way in hell the game's core mechanics are going to be changed at this point.

Now I don't know if the new roadmap is on track anymore, but if it is, then I have doubts about how good any of the future content is going to be.

That being said, we can keep on dreaming but those dreams are gonna have to be for a new Ghost Recon title. Which is also probably never going to happen for a while since how bad Breakpoint flopped...

Edit: TLDR: AI teammates are going to be mediocre at best and Ubi Paris has a skeleton crew for Breakpoint so there's no way core mechanics can be drastically changed without making another GR title.

Shooting helicopters and drones on top of Liberty bridge is the most exciting thing we ever did. Sometimes it's all about taking a LMG and spray around like Rambo. Since playing without suppressor on Extreme Elite No HUD, our failure rate has increase by a lot, but there's a certain enjoyment in it.
