Ghost Recon - Battle Rewards Update

Ghost Recon - Battle Rewards Update

    Battle Rewards Update

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 01:10 PM PST

After the start of Act 2 on Tuesday, we've been monitoring the conversation around the Battle Rewards. Here are the steps we are taking to address the following issues next week:

    1. Duplicates / Empty Crates

Our team has identified the cause and is working towards a solution.

We will be granting everyone all Battle Rewards from Act 1 and 2 to ensure no one misses an item they should have received.

We will also be deactivating the Battle Rewards system until we have implemented solutions to prevent this issue from reoccurring. Our team aims to have everything ready for the start of Act 3.

The Hill and Walker figures will not be mass-granted until we have resolved their respective problems.

This will not change the evolution of the Faction Mission chapters.

    2. Hill Figure

We've noted two issues regarding the Hill figure, the pants on the Hill figure do not match those in the cut scenes and in select cases trying to unlock it will cause a crash. We are working on fixes for each of these issues.

Players who already have this figure will keep it. Players who do not currently have it will not be granted the figure until we have a fix in place.

    3. Walker Figure

The Walker coat issue is being investigated by the team. We will provide an update to the item behavior as quickly as possible.

Players who already have this figure will keep it. Players who do not currently have it will not be granted the figure until we have a fix in place.

    4. Act 1 Item Hidden After Start of Act 2

We've seen reports in rare cases that an Act 1 item was hidden from players who had acquired it when Act 2 started.

With the Act rewards grant to all players, individuals who experienced this should no longer have an issue – however, we are investigating the cause to ensure it doesn't repeat again in the future.

Battle Points as a currency instead of XP

Battle Points as a currency instead of XP

I've been thinking back on Metal Gear Solid V lately and its system for post-launch content. In MGSV, you could earn "Event Points" that could be spent on small things like emblems and camos to better things like weapon blueprints. This system would be perfect for Breakpoint as a replacement for the current Battle Pass Rewards.

There are two major gripes about the current Battle Rewards:

    1. The constant grind keeps us from enjoying the main game
    2. RNG

This overhaul aims at eliminating that.

Earn Points, spend them on what you want. No need to pray to RNGsus.

You'd be able to earn Battle Points for playing all aspects of the game, though Faction Missions and Ghost War would likely give the most. Get some from chests, Wolves, missions, the "raid", etc. and then spend them in the Battle Rewards menu. No RNG loot crates, just the ability to buy what you want. All the loot crate items should just be added to the list of things to buy.

    fortnite bad

As far as pricing, things like Emblems, Banners, and Titles would be on the low end. 15-30 points each for example. Camos are a little more useful and desired so we'll say 100 points. Clothing items will be 150 points. Gear, such as unique vests, helmets, and backpacks, will be around 300. Figures will be around 500 points. And the big ticket item, weapon blueprints, will be a whopping 1000. This is just an example, I'm sure the Battle Point economy will need some tuning.

And like in MGSV, Battle Points don't carry over between Acts! Earn and spend while you can!

EDIT: u/Solokiller and u/antoineflemming brought up a great point in that items from previous Acts would be time gated. To avoid this, I propose that items from new acts are just added to the list of items to buy instead of replaced. That way no one misses out on content, they'll just have to re-earn their Battle Points.

I believe this overhaul will bring jaded players back to the game and being able to earn Battle Points for all activities will keep people having fun, and at least tide them over until the new "radical and immersive" version of Breakpoint comes out.

EDIT: Ubisoft just announced that they will be disabling Battle Rewards until Act 3 because of the current issues. Perfect timing to implement this kind of system, eh Ubi?

I like it as a feature but having your gun look so shit as soon as you get out of your menu is lame. And having your black boots look like Timbs after going for a wee hike is also extremely un-cash money.

    Thanks...

Teammates' IR lasers still hasn't been fixed

Seems like such a small thing, but it's essential for no hud players when in a team alongside an actual compass. Can we expect this to be fixed anytime soon?

Daily reminder that the thumbstick deadzone makes aiming feel clunky and horrible.

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 07:23 AM PST

I understand it's supposed to feel like the players are "heavy" but it doesn't work. The deadzone has to be around 10% even when the setting is at None.

This it's not imaginary. It's not made up. A decent amount of people have brought this to light and nothing is ever acknowledged by the devs.

Please, devs, your accuracy settings have an ADVANCED option, give us more than 3 options for our deadzone... Because when you say it's "None" when there is a clear centimeter of stick movement before Nomad moves, there is a problem.

I can understand that the LEFT thumbstick has a deadzone to make characters feel heavy. But to add such a horrible deadzone (or input lag, whatever) to the RIGHT stick makes aiming absolutely horrible. It doesn't feel "realistic", it feels clunky and unpolished.

EDIT: I will be posting this every day, as this has been a problem that has existed for a very long time. I'm asking the community to join me in doing so or at least making this known by the devs. There is absolutely no way this clunky aim is intended.

Has Ubisoft officially responded to the Battle Rewards debacle?

After the first "season" ended I kept playing and it paid off. I opened up GRBP and I was already at Tier 34. Super! However, the mystery battle supplies crates are just a cluster... I've opened up 15 crates so far and have only got 7 of the battle supplies content - sub 50% batting average there... Today for instance, I open up Tier 38 and I get the IC-8 Incursion - Berserker that I got at Tier 28!?!?!?! Seriously??? All I really want is the 516 Shorty and I only have 2 more chances to get it!!! What are you going to do about this Ubi? Has there been a response? If not, why?

    GR vs Division

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 05:31 PM PST

So I personally haven't played the division but I wanna know what y'all think.

Who would win, one ghost or one division agent? Bias aside, I think GR would win, I mean they took down an entire cartel without even being found out about besides by Sueno.
