A Suggestion for the "Ammo Lost on Reload" Mode for the Upcoming Immersive Mode Update

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 05:15 AM PDT

Althought it's an optional setting, I think it would've been more interesting if the developers could implement a system where if you double tap R (or whatever button you have bound to Reload)
You'd perform a fast reload, throwing the mag on the ground and losing the ammo. (For both Partial/Tactical and Dry Reloads)

However, if simply tapping the R once, you'll reload slower but store the partial magazine back in the pouch/rig.

You could also improve the mechanic further by letting the players grab spent magazines from the ground, restoring the remaining ammo.

(If you want a reference, look at escape from tarkov reload system).

With these new updates inbound. We desperately need the gunsmith overhauled.

Specifically the assault variants. I need suppressors on them. I never use those guns even tho they are easily my favorite looking guns, for the sole reason that I cant have a suppressor on it. We need a deeper gunsmith

    The effects of proper communication

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 05:02 AM PDT

Disclaimer: I'm excited for the 2.0.0 update for Breakpoint. Though I'm sure that it wont fix all the issues with the game and - thinking about past updates - introduce new problems/bugs. But that is not the thingI want to talk about.

Before the announcement from Ubi last week about the contents of the 2.0.0 update this community was virtually flooded every day with posts about the state of the game, the total lack of communication and features that were missing. People were furious and rightfully so. The community managers weren't engaging with us and we were left in the dark about the future of the game/franchise.

But that changed dramatically after the announcement from Ubi. And it is nice. The community has some hope for the game because some of the worst things can be turned off/will be fixed. They even admitted that "no one" wants a second raid before some essential problems with the game are not properly addressed. And this is good sign for Ubi which they should learn from: Talk to the community and listen to them! Tell them what you are up to and how are you progressing. Heck, tell us you are working on something and maybe even tell us, that you are having problems with the implementation and it takes longer than you thought. But TALK TO US. Most of us would be happy knowing that you are working on fixes and wait for the fix - whenever it will be ready.

How about a (bi-)weekly bulletin with some short updates? "We are currently working on X. It is a bit difficult but it should be ready for the next update." "We already fixed Y. Look forward to it in the next update." "Sorry, but we can't fix Z with the desired solution A. But we can give you B or C. What do you want?" You don't have to give us release dates for everything but just let us know, what you are working on and how the fix is progressing.

Hoping really that the immersive mode will revive my joy in the franchise and the game. I loved Wildlands and Breakpoint was a huge disappointment for me personally. The new mode should be a great step into the right direction.

Concern with the US woodland camo: the background color ( color of velcro) shouldn’t be khaki. It should be either a forest green color or olive drab. There is way to much khaki that you would be seen a million miles away in the forest.

I've been looking at the things my dad had from the military and the stitching and background solid color of his Woodland gear is green/ olive drab color. So yeah that's kinda a problem

    Advice for a Division Refugee?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2020 09:18 AM PDT

Hey guys, I've been playing a metric shit-ton of Division, and with their most recent tire fire of an update, decided to put it down for a while and try something new. I've been following the GR sub for a while and the most recent Ubi announcement encouraged me to buy.

I have a few hours into it now, and I'm kind of struggling with the playstyle of Breakpoint (and probably Ghost Recon as a whole).

    • The open world sandbox "do what you want" style is a little difficult to wrangle. How should someone structure missions for maximum enjoyment? I'm having trouble executing missions and objectives in ways that feel satisfying. The low-IQ NPCs coupled with the "do it your way" approach leads most encounters to feel cheesy.
    • The AI is extremely low-brow. Driving by a patrol on the highway in a closed top enemy UTV shouldn't trigger suspicion or alerts. How can I get around the island without constantly being in some state of alert?
    • Coming from Division, world design is incredibly sub-par. Entering a big techy looking building and only seeing a few tables and chairs reminds me of the old N64 environments of Goldeneye or Perfect Dark.
    • NPC detail is god-tier phoned in. Again, it reminds me of the NPC conversation and audio loops of generations past. Civilians and Sentinels alike repeating the same lines of dialogue over and over again. I searched an "ancient village" yesterday with NPCs in the main hut, repeating the same three lines of dialogue to each other every two minutes.
    • If it weren't for the fantastic graphics, this game kind of feels like it's way older than it is.

I guess this halfway turned into a bit of a rant. That was unintentional. I'm mainly hoping for some tips and guidance on making the experience more cohesive / enjoyable. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve for me here: Divison is open-world, but missions and objectives have handrails that lead you into engagements in challenging ways.

The game's on sale now but I've heard that it had many issues at launch. Is it worth buying now?
